Never got into Softimage. What would you guys say was its main selling point? What did it do better/differently from the rest of the existing 3D suites out there?

I didn't touch it until its discontinuation was announced, pretty nice program, great alternative to maya and 3ds max which is why autojew bought it from avid and killed it off.
