>>
That's like sitting in a badly damaged space ship that is fighting a lost battle and preparing for ramming speed

Good actually. I am multi-program master-race.
I know and use also Maya, Houdini, Z-brush, Clarisse, Mari and Nuke, even Blender.
>>
>>627951
You're a fucking unicorn in /3/ then. Most here are fucking scared by having to use more than one program.
>>
>>627934
that's actually what it's called though
>>
>>627970

It's Softimaaajjj, not soft image
>>
>>628006
Correct. The original company was located in Montreal

i always loved these guides. like, what in the fuck are you supposed to do with these hieroglyphics?
>>
>>628166
Uh... read them?
IPA's just a more detailed version of alphabets, distinguishing different ways things can be pronounced with glyphs. It's pretty neat if you're a linguist freak that wants textbook pronunciation on everything.

Spift Jay Muh 3.

Cool.

Here you go anyway.

Never got into Softimage. What would you guys say was its main selling point? What did it do better/differently from the rest of the existing 3D suites out there?
>>

literally autism incarnate. what do any of these words even mean? how far does the rabbit hole have to go before you can work your way back to understanding what is meant by any of this shit?
>>
>>627792
XSI is shit, just use blender
>>
>>630181
Eh, that's for real linguist usage. Delving into the technicalities of it.

This one's the proper one.

It was even above Maya in fields like rigging and animation, especially for complicated character setups. Its demise was a bitter pill for many studios and power users, especially in Asian markets.
>>
>>630181
What an attitude, jeesh. NGMI.
>>
I didn't touch it until its discontinuation was announced, pretty nice program, great alternative to maya and 3ds max which is why autojew bought it from avid and killed it off.
>>
Jack did Kate
