Is it possible to use the 2.8 alpha/beta/gamma whatever it is without any major problems? I want to go back to Blender but i really want to use the new version
>>627434No. Use the 2.79 buildbot download if you want the bevel node and principled volume shader. 2.8 is still very buggy and stuff gets changed daily.
2.8 is at least one whole year away from being usable.Don't fucking use it right now.
>>627434>using blender>without any major problemspick one
>>627434Crashes a lot in windows, I've been testing in linux mint 18 xfce and works fine, the blender fundation works in linux and is what they fix usually first
thouyght his hand was a dong
>>627465Just curious, why mint? I'm wanting to get into the linux side of things with blender but there are so many choices
>>627492Because is based on Ubuntu and you can use the .deb, is easier to update, crash less, and is less weird than the original ubuntu XFCE, if you wanna try blender in Linux make sure that you download an XFCE desktop version, the shortcuts are more customizable
>>627492Not him, but I personally recommend Xubuntu. Mint has that extremely Windows XP-ey feel that I just couldn't get behind. Xubuntu is less Windows-ey, but, since it's Ubuntu, it's still very easy to get used to.
>>627434Sadly in version 2.8 you can't see mirrored geometry in edit mode
