I'm finally getting to the point where my renders are taking way too long so I'm starting to look into render services and I was curious what you /3/tards like to use.
Do they care if you're using pirated software?

Bumping for interest.

By the way OP, what renderer do you use? CPU or GPU based?
>>

GPU. I started using Octane recently and now I'm hooked.

Hey, I use Octane too. It's pretty cool. The bad thing about it is the lack of a free market for cloud rendering... OTOY offers ORC, but I haven't used it so I can't comment on it.

The good thing is that you can export your scene to ORBX and thus work around the pirated software issue. Or so I like to believe... if I were feeling paranoid, I would export all assets as FBX/OBJ and create the scenes in Octane Standalone, but that's painful work.

My fellow Blendlets can use SheepIt, a free distributed render farm specifically for Blender. Yet another win for the free software community.

Indeed! Everything that you render on SheepIt is accessible from the computers rendering it.

And you can't render porn.

That would make sense given that those computers would struggle to render something to which they don't have access. Pornography is the Devil's work so they're actually helping you to not burn in hell for all eternity. Yet another win for the free software community.

Not even trying encryption. Well, sure, it's Blender's level, what else would you expect.

Ur m0m would beg to differ m8

I brought a refurbished dual xeon for renderering. Beware doing this however as my motherboard just died after 5 months of use.
