so i have been having an issue with my renders. i don't have any skybox addons for my laptop right now but still need a good sky for a render. it doesn't have to be perfect but nice enough to look clear. anyone got a good recommendation for image sizes for backgrounds or any good images?

Goddammit, post in the questions thread next time.

Find better quality HDRIs is your simplest solution. hdrihaven is a great place for that, offering free HDRIs up to 16k (though don't be surprised that you don't have enough memory to load them). Another solution would be to implement depth of field in your scene, so you can hide the low quality of your background images with defocus blur.

I'd imagine a good image size would be "a/b*360" for horizontal size and vertical would be 1/2 that.
Where "a" is the final horizontal image size of you render (e.g: '1920' for 1080p) and "b" is the render cameras horizontal FOV (e.g: 45°).
Example 1920/45*360 =16K
