Good Day one and all. This is my short film that iv been developing for the past 14 weeks for my university degree in computer animation and VFX. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvUacrolx20if anyone has some feedback, that would be much appreciated.tell us what you like and more importantly don't.smile and enjoy.Ash.
The cut whenever someone gets stepped on is annoying, you couldn't string it together more cleanly?
>>619954The characters are quite stationary. I suspect this is deliberate, but it can also feel like you try to avoid run/walk cycles here. Try to make that tripod move further. The timing and spacing (curves) needs more work because the movement in general looks rubbery, especially for that ripped dude and the tripod. Please use references when animating, you save yourself a shitload of work. I like the ouroboros like loop. I think you will pass, just do some cleanup.
>>619954feels like spore
>>619954>>619954The music is maddening. There's also no impact to the foot- it just comes down. I assume you know the 12 principles of animation, so apply them. It's also pretty obvious that the idle animation on green thing with the blue shoes loops 3 times. Good luck, man.
>>619954I get what you were going for and the loop is a good idea but the movements seem a little awkward an robotic, remember that subtlety is important. Funnily enough the characters with the less defined features seem to move more fluidly. You've captured the 'animated exaggeration' for reactionaries to a degree. Just need to work on your nuance somewhat. Abuse the time graph and ease everything until it 'feels' right. Anything from camera shake to character movement in relation to the environment (bad example here) can add momentum which will give a sense of scale. Best of luck with your Uni work either way anon!
