PIXOMONDO worked on GOT and definitely didn't use blender.Blenderi s being used for films now though, and VFX in Man in the High Castle.

Where does such garbage even come from? Who spreads stuff like that? I worked on GoT and no we didn't use blender. Although there are several studios that worked on it. But I don't know a single one of them that usese Blender, at all.In fact I don't know a single big studio that uses blender at all, and I have been at almost all of the big ones.What's with the obsession with blender? I have never used it and never will because no one uses it. If you want to work at one of the big studios you'll better get into Maya asap, everything else is a huge waste of time.

The studio I work at was involved in all GoT seasons. I can confirm the rumors that Daenerys Targaryen is a digital human; Emilia Clarke (among others, though mostly her) only performed for mocap.Also, in some scenes during season 5, the dragons were animatronics.
