Seems like you are using the default camera in that situation. Default camera headlamp is set to auto but will disable when you add lights to the scene.
You can really only solve this by adding more lights. Learning basic lighting is definitely the best option.

I kinda figured out the bit about the eyes. If you go to each eye surface and apply the right shader in the right color then it turns out ok.

Now i have another problem it seems it's quite common. The teeth were totally ruined somehow on one of my models (posibly more i haven't checked them all).

Is it possible to fix the teeth somehow? or at least save my morph settings to start over?

I found a fix. I went through each morph and dialed it down until i found the one that messed up the teeth. Then I set Mouth Realism HD to -400%. Now I'm fixing each tooth one at a time and checking if the smile is good enough. You gotta use "Easy Teeth" but it's a pain in the ass. I won't finish the teeth today, but It's way better than before.

It was a nails morph tool that messed up my teeth.

No one's arguing that power-of-2 isn't a better way to do textures, but realistically in 10 years of doing renders I haven't seen artifacting in bump/normal/etc because vendors actually know what they're doing there.

What I *have* seen is a vendor who foolishly applied the same noise to the specular of a neck/torso map and the head map which were both 4k in size, not understanding that the scale difference between the two maps would be immediately visible where they join on the figure. That was a case where the noise should have been a procedurally generated node in the shader tree and thereby scale controllable for each map.

Still pretty lumpy for the amount of boob sock happening there. When you make clothing for figures that have such extreme morphs applied you should really make the clothing against the morph and transfer source shape when you fit it to the figure. Otherwise you get weird stuff like that happening. It'll also give you nicer UV maps.

You have some papering at the edges of the cloth too. Try either using a displacement map to give the cloth some thickness or what I prefer to do is use an L-extrude to cheat the thickness.

You should stick to proper Daz assets. When you use Iray every little flaw in a game ripped model is going to scream out at you especially if they're in a scene with proper assets like that dress. Since you have Zbrush have you tried sculpting your own clothing? A simple pair of pants like that should be very simple to sculpt in Zbrush and will look 1000 times better in your render than low resolution game ripped clothing. If you're able to use Zbrush well enough to make those hair morphs I have confidence you'd be able to make decent clothing with it too.

I do try my hand at modelling and texturing occasionally, and it is something I want to get better at. For any given composition I make there's always something I model and texture myself. I'm slowly becoming more self-sufficient as I go. Just bear in mind that composition isn't considered a complex skill set and you should be picking it up pretty quickly. Lighting is more of a challenge to understand but like composition its basics come from photography.

Clothing is really your last concern here but until render engines can tile fabric patterns without distortion, you are better off learning to model clothing whose UV mapping is intended to cover a hulk type frame, unless you plan to exclusively use solid textures.

If you're using Poser just put a magnet on each shoulder. V4's arms are already kind of spindly but if you have Morphs++ there are body type dials that'll give you more of the waif look you want.

No, I think the default Aiko 4 looks weak but it comes with a shitload of tweak dials aimed at specific anime looks/facial movements. And every successive Aiko character set for later Genesis models is progressively less anime and more Asian ethnic which explains Sakura 8 having to be created. Aiko 4 has more dials and features than I have time to screencap, Anon was just asking what it would take to get V4 to look more like his ideal in facial/body shapes and proportions and I'm just telling him he doesn't have to sculpt EVERYTHING in ZBrush.

What I overlooked in my renders is the NoseTriangle morph which flattens out the nostril cavities but unfortunately can't remove any shadows a regular character texture would have painted there.

The chest of the character looks exaggerated in smallness compared to regular human. the shoulders look bigger than normal, especially for the small torso they are attached to so it seems to balance out. Any of that make sense? I have Aiko4 but I never bothered doing anything with her, also I think trying to transfer custom characters with custom sculpts to her might be impossible or at least a huge pain.

As I said, between V4's own dials, those Morphs++ adds and Aiko4's, you should be able to get most of what that particular style has. For example I didn't bother making her neck more slender and longer but it's doable with the dials provided. I think the shoulders will require a gentle magnet deformer if you don't want to sculpt them.

Aiko 4 is a morph injection set for V4, AFAIK it doesn't alter V4's JCMs (but I could be mistaken).

V4's bends can be improved one of two ways depending on what software you're using. If you're using Poser or DS, apply Perfect V4 Complete:

The human mouth isn't exactly a sphincter but it's a ring of muscles that can't make that expression without rounding those terror inducing corners. Literally the only non frightening things in that picture are the nose and the ears, the rest of it makes Going to the Store look healthy and normal.

DAZ has regressed incredibly with their sculpts and I suspect Genesis 3/8 was some lowest bidder schmuck instead of the guy who did Generation 4 through Genesis 2. Also I have no fucking idea how this character lowered the teeth so badly.

No seriously, if I saw this walking down the street at me I'd swing a shovel at it until it was an unrecognizable mess, then pour gasoline on it and let it burn as a warning to whatever other monstrosities might follow.
