Is 3D coat the best way to retopologize an object?
Do they still update Topogun?
Well, looking at the topology there on that picture, I'd say no.
>>616739it's not THE best, it's best among others. (maya for example) I'm saying Maya beacause I have used these both for retopo, Ipreffer Maya's Quad Draw, because it has polyloop extrudewith Shift.
>>616759Yep, Maya's retopo tools are amazing.
>>616739I like it. For the best results you have to manually retopo but for things that aren't animated, like props and landscape assets you can often get a good enough result with autopo.I can't wait for the polygon fill to come out for it.
>>616759>>616788I also use Maya 2018 since they did a huge update for their retopo and it's fantastic, provided you like to retopo manually.
>>616855What is polygon fill? Isn't that just retopo?
What do you think about "SketchRetopo?"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev4rXIWdc64&list=PLk--A_D3Rcz0IFQv9Peyy_HC6Hqbrm5RuInteresting free tool.
>>617655that program was just a proof of concept, was buggy as hell and you're "not allowed" to use it for anything and have to remove it after testing (lol). of course it also has no further development nor bugfixing. retopoflow for blender does almost the same.
>>617635Polygon fill let's you manually make the critical edge loops for a retopo mesh and after you've made the critical edge loops it will automatically fill in the non critical polygons. It's like a combo between autopo and manual retopo.
