Pretty fucking awesome.

Is that considered good cg because it does nothing for me

It’s the tech behind it that counts. The animation of the model is being driven (I believe in real time, as with >>613220) by mocap of an actor’s face.
>>
>>613283
It's okay, you'll never be able to reach that level anyway
>>
why does Andy Serkis always do this stuff?

Because he is good at it.

They should improve the outdoor lighting. Unreal has some of the best interiors but ironically some of the worst exteriors.
>>
>>613855
That wasn't the point of it though...

Because his company/production staff is good at it

The face in and of itself is well past the uncanny valley... but the animations aren't. I can't put my finger on what they're missing.
Since they're probably interpolating between expressions, maybe they need more expressions to interpolate between?

Maybe the motion capture software needs to capture at a higher framerate, because a lot of the issues I saw with her is that she jumps from expression to expression really quickly, and it was jarring.
That can't be solved with smoothing and interpolation though, because that would ruin a lot of the purposefully shaky expressions that Andy Serkis makes in the OP video.

Mouth corners and eyes still lifeless.

That was a whole lot of useless talking for a proof-of-concept demo

Have to make it interesting for the non art people.
I'm glad we're getting more focus on realistic body language though. It's about time we move away from the Elder Scrolls Quality Standard(tm)

can you imagine how much his family must hate him?

Tingly inside

I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THE CP MADE ON THIS ENGINE

It looks inferior to the AI youtubers (japanese men using mocap and voice changers to look and sound like anime girls)

Do you have a link? I'm up for a bit of cringe.

The uncanny valley is in your head, you can't get past it.
You can get close, sure. Your brain will always know a real living thing from something that isn't.
Unless you're an idiot.

no, he's right. Some people speak too fast or too slow for the dialogue or what they're supposed to be performing like Andy "belongs riding zoo animals in a circus" Circus

me if i see a bad actor or actress, I download the videos and slow them down and then often change the audio to another language, like spanish!
