what did valve mean by this?

The last update is from like 6 years ago, it's no longer in development and no one except horny teenagers use it, why complain about some random old abandonware?

I mean, i see why still use it (for purposes other than for academic purposes) but it is like anon said above, pretty obsolete.

I hope valve at least cares to give us a sfm2 or something like that when source 2 becomes main use.

There's really no point in using sfm, when importing models or props into blender is so easy. Throwing a rigify rig on there, and importing the vtfs is nearly seamless.
>>
>>612179
no, but there will be a sfm2 card trading game
>>
>>612248
and with eevee on the door last argument of sfm with faster render times renders that argument moot

I'm only using SFM for the express purpose of character animation, whilst i use C4D for everything else. Considering picking up Maya to replace it.

There's a "SFM2" as part of the Dota 2 workshop tools, but it's pretty much the same thing with support for the Source 2 file formats.

But the animating process of SFM is so much more intuitive and faster than in Blender. I'm pretty sure Blender doesn't even let you put additive detail animation on top of other animations.

Animation layers?!

Blender people please keep your delusions to your threads about donuts.

This is probably bait, but I think the animation term you're looking for is "Overlapping". Any program can do that.

I tried SFM once...never again. So hard.
>>

come back when you have 1000 hours like me
>>
>>612612
You mean you got hard?

Yeah, that may happen. It’s not restricted to SFM, though.

For me, it happens with Houdini. It really gets me going. If I find it obstructive to my workflow, I just take a few minutes to blow a load, and I’m ready to get back to work.
