Where can I learn about architecture styles and such in detail but relevant to modelling structures in 3D?

In the library, architecture section.

Try different council website and see if there any plans approved ore pending and download and model from them. Try to work out what you would actually see and model simply. Add details later with edit poly modifyers if you are using max. Go to arch daily and model from plans there.

Do you need a complete history of western architecture? if so buy a book.
are you interested in post war to modern? buy books on those periods. Or you could always wiki modern architecture and follow all the links.

If you are interested in contemporary styles and trends then architectural blogs like arch daily are your best bet.

I'm more interested in Japanese architecture
I want to develop my own style for a project I'm working on which takes inspiration from the traditional Japanese styles and surrealism
