Why does no one use Wings 3D?
>>
the flagship feature is modeling, its not that good of a modeler in comparison to any modeler out there.

its very lightweight however

Never used Wings 3D, but its predecessors, Mirai and S-Graphics system.

I practically learned box modeling and patch modeling with Mirai

Yeah, I'm an oldfag...

What happened to Mirai? I remember reading about it years ago as a great modeling and animation package
>>
>>609988
Not sure. I think Nichimen merged with some other company, ending the development and distribution of Mirai.
>>
Nichimen Nendo 1.1 circa 1999 was my entry to 3D. Wings always seemed a bit much to run on my Celeron at the time.

It's definately not better than blender, so whats the point of using it.
>>
>>610118
Fuck off and die, retarded blendlet.
>>
>>610128

This. Blendlets are worse than cancer.
>>
>>610128
>>610131

heres your two (you)s samefag.

If you aren't getting into blender now youre already behind the future power curve.
>>
>>610132
Right. Maybe in 2100 somebody will start hiring Blender people.
>>
>>610134
"blender people" are already in the industry. Most studios use it.

I'm proficient in some commercial 3D packages, so I'm not wasting any time on learning your DonutMaker Meme software.
>>
>>610136

Keep dreaming Blendie. Most studios use either Maya or Max.
>>
I use Wings 3D, and I love it! It's easy, quick and natural to use, I have made some really cool stuff with it. And it's very stable too.

Hexagon is better and also free. (and finally getting supported again)

>X is better than Y

you're out of line, blendlet. make me a donut.
>>
>>610469

More features and nicer interface.
>>
>>610538
Can you show something you made with the software?
>>
Wings 3d is great but at some point it started to bloat and the feature set drifted away from the original vision of copying Mirai/Nendo. Mirai was awesome software and it's sad it went down under.
All these newfags don't even know what the fuck these are. Nichimen Graphics N-world was Mirai's predecessor and it was used on tons of console games, Mario64 and others as well.
Wings is still great but I don't even know if there are working builds available. The more you know how to customize it to work like Mirai the better your experience is going to be.
It's excellent especially for hard surface assets.
>>
You can't even point to point modeling with this
>>
>>611341
You are retard. Go back to wherever you came from and stay there.
>>
>>611351
Show me then
>>
>>611339
i don't know about wings3d modeling toolset and what it includes.
did it reach the point of 3ds max yet or it is still behind? they should focus more on modeling and unwrapping
>>
Silo 3D is better
>>
>>611359
t. tardlet

Silo is also dead
>>
>>611400

I used to use it all the time. I just don't do much modelling any more.

I think it just doesn't have much mindshare any more.
