i spent 7+ hours modeling this car, what do you think of it so far?
>>609739Well it at least looks like a car.I've seen worse.
>>609739It's okay. Remember that a car's body is made out of several parts. It's okay to model the bumpers, doors, hood, mirrors and so on separately from one another.
i don't know if they are still selling it but it looks pretty sick.https://cgmasters.net/training-courses/complete-vehicle-production-in-blender/this tutorial is probably ass-rape as it comes, but if you can finish it kudos for you.this is probably the only cgmasters tutorial i would buy, and they have alot of other good stuff as well
>>609754this is the second one, i know i have downloaded it a year ago, but i didn't have the knowledge to follow through.https://cgcookie.com/course/modeling-a-post-apocalyptic-vehicle
>>609754>>609755Will they put an option to inflate the tires of your jeep in Blender 2.8? Why does everything modeled in Blender look odd and cheap?
>>609787you can inflate things already
>>609739I'm gonna be honest and say - yes, it looks horrible. But that's okay, you just HAVE to follow a lot of tutorials before trying to model complex stuff like this on your own. Trying to figure it out by yourself is a waste of time and that is NOT okay, though.
>>609787>Why does everything modeled in Blender look odd and cheap?Because most users aren't exactly top tier. Doesn't help that stuff like shaders aren't exactly easy to learn (I know this from experience). Then again, any modeling software can look cheap if you're shit enough, doesn't matter if it's Blender, Maya, C4D or any other program. And frankly, I find Sketchup models to look far cheaper than Blender.
>>609833But that's supposed to be the result of a top tier tutorial and it sucks.
>>609835I can see where you're coming from with the reflective materials, they look pretty bad. Especially the grill.
I mean, this is bad. Knife-sharp shadows, flat tires bent in the oddest possible way. Unfortunately we're about 15 years past when something like that would have had any commercial or career value, but then again maybe it's all you can get in Blender.
>>609835IMO nothing produced by CGCookie looked really top-tier. Even if their tutorials were good, the results were still shitty. Just look at those sculpting courses and those characters. Cringe, but the courses itself are not bad. Doesn't say much about Blender, but I get it that you're probably one of those people who will always find a reason to trash Blender.
>>609837>>609838Yep, you're one of those guys. I'm not getting in a discussion with you. You're either trolling now or seriously don't understand anything about 3D and visual arts in general. Yeah, it looks bad, and no, it has nothing to do with Blender, of course.
>>609838Reasons to bash Blender aren't hard to find. Starting from the broken UI, to the buggy tools, but what pains me the most is that Blender wastes people time, talent and effort.
>>609841Anon, you are not amusing at all. What's even worse is that you are not even creative with your shitposts, but constantly repeat the same 3 words. I hope your life improves in the future, I really do. It's obvious you have some problems.
>>609843Call me names how many times you want for as long as you want. Blender will still be a mess.On that note, since Blender is open source, why don't you fix it?
>>609854Why don't I fix it? Well, I don't have any problems with it, so I have nothing to fix. You should be the one to do it since you obviously have a lot against it. And before you answer with "I don't care", you definitely care when you repeatedly post toxic comments about Blender every single day on this, almost completely dead board (partly because of people like you, so well done about that).
>>609854Blender is a tool, it's as useful to you as you are good at using it. Saying that blender is unuseable is like picking up a hammer and hitting yourself with said hammer and blaming the hammer for it.
>>610003>picking up a doughnutfix'd
>>609854>Call me names how many times you want for as long as you want. Blender will still be a mess.i should listen to you
>>609854>Call me names how many times you want for as long as you want. Blender will still be a mess.Okay, show me where he called you a big stinky doodoohead anon.
>>609838That makes me wonder, what do you think of the other cookie courses involving traditional clay sculpting and art? Are they in the same boat as the CG stuff?
