If blender is open source then why doesn't the community fix its interface?
>>
This is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody's job.
>>
It's almost as if there is really nothing to fix about it.

Cause you can't fix what is broken beyond repair.

It's this thread again

Don’t be worried too much, they are making a watered down version for brainlets.
>>
Because it can't be fixed.
1. The Blender Foundation sells books and tutorials that are based on the current broken interface.
2. Blender's interface is a reflection of its horribly redundant internal database.
They would have to fix the crumbling internal database first but that would mean throwing Blender in the trash where it belongs.
>>
>>609074
By "making a watered down version" you mean they're re-writing Blender behind the scenes because they know Blender itself is not fixable.
Given the Blender's foundation team of diverse programmers competency, my prediction is I'll laugh for a month when they'll show the result.
>>
>>609043
If it ain't broken, should it really be fixed?
>>
>>609043
Am I the only one who actually likes the interface, I mean sure some parts of the menus could be ordered a bit better but I like it way more than cinema 4d's interface.
>>
>>609557
there are a few ways to use the interface.
i combine buttons, hotkeys and search to get what i need. i don't always use blender as intended.
if you want, there is a possibility to make button only workflow
>>
>>609558
I usually only use hotkeys and that is pretty much all you should need if you spend as much time in a program as you do in 3d software. The only stuff you really need the menus for is rendering settings and other stuff you aren't doing all the time like physics.
>>
Delete 50% of the controls in the default UI. Profit.
>>
>>609557
I used blender and wings3d back in the day of blender 2.42. Seriously, blender is fucking great. If you're man enough you can use it as a video editor and have all the power of its compositor at your disposal. If the renderer is giving you shit, just plug in luxrender or yafray or whatever new hotness there is these days, and away you go.

Set your own hotkeys for your own workflow and away you go.
>>
People shilling for bad open source software. That's what it has come to.
>the power of its compositor
What power? The power of the insanity that the Blender nodes system is going to give you?
>new hotness
Yafray. You're not being serious.
>and away you go
With Blender you do just that. Your life disappears into nothing.
>>
>>609557
You probably can't afford c4d to understand it's amazingnesses
>>
>>609909
I have actually used c4d for a long time before switching to blender.
>>609901
I use blender as my video editor, can I officially call myself a real man now?

Is bforartists like something you are looking for?
http://www.bforartists.de/
>>
>>610005
>"The primary goal of the Bforartists fork is to deliver a better graphical UI and a better usability. This means a complete switch in the useage philosophy. Away from the hotkey and speed centered useage. Towards a user friendly and intuitive graphical UI."
So this is only for beginners. I don't know why would anybody serious about 3D prefer buttons.
>>
I actually started using blender only a couple months back and I'm pretty happy with the interface so far, it does the job.
The only problem i can think of is that it presents all options at once, which can be overwhelming.
>>
>>610066
You can also change the theme to the white material one which highlights the categories in the menus so it is easier to see.
>>
>>610066
What do you mean? That is exactly what Blender doesn't do, unlike other software. Well, at least not if your sidebars are closed.

Press T and N to hide left and right sidebar. Also, you can do SHIFT + SPACE to get rid of everything and have your viewport in fullscreen like a pro. Blender is the cleanest program I've ever used.
>>
>>610073
Shit, I think my comment will bait some trolls again. Please don't, I know you can make other programs clean as well if you really want to. Blender is just cleaner to me.

Someone already has. It's called BforArtists:
