Not trying to shill here (though I assume this thread will eventually turn into one). But what's the honest opinion of this program?
>>608431Its great for me and its simple to learn you can get really far with just a Edit poly. Although I might be bias since its the first I've learned, I also use Maya but i'm less skilled in it i do like maya's way of doing UVS its a little better but I got TexTools for Max and it speeds it up for me. English is not my first language so sorry for bad spelling and Grammer
>>608431It's been in development for almost 30 years. What do you think.
>>608445I wouldn't know, I never used it.
>>608431It's great, but the Uv part sucks ASS. I hate the fact that you're doing all of your UVs with modifiers, it's so easy to screw things up. And it's slow as hell, especially when you're used to Maya 2018's Uv knife tool.
>>608472Kinda ironic that Maya has better UV tools now than Max.
Cool, another software thread! How creative
>>608431It feels old and clunky and I dont enjoy using it but its the best tool by far for Arc viz. I would prefer using Modo but its not as good at handling large scenes and Maya is shit at architectural modeling. would be good to merge max and maya but the code is different so i hear its not possible. I dont know shit about making software
>>608445>after 30 years in development, hopefully it has been worth the wait
>>608431It's competent at what it does and in the right hands. Like every other 3D package; you need plugins and scripts to make it really shine.
