I have been commissioned to model a jelly bean for a candy company. How would you go about doing this? No word on animation yet
>>608403Jesus, how do you get a job this simple and then don't know how to do that?
>>608403In 3ds Max, first step is to create a 16 poly segmented sphere. After that, stretch the middle until you have a pill shape and subdivide the segment with a slice modifier, several times. To reach the bean shape, just soft select and stretch the middle polys. Then, use a ffdbox to distort the shape and make the tips thinner.
>>608461After that, gradient scales can enhance the diffuse colors using a box map on the beams, and you should add a bump bitmap for those little nice bumpy looks. Later, you can add all the colors of the rainbows, just like real jellybeams. Good luck!

>>6084031 singular jelly bean?... who are these people
>>609300Well, they are all the same anyway, just change the color and multiply...
>>609308It’s evident you haven’t been around beans recently.
>>609315What the fuck are you talking about?
>>609349you need to think about thos Beans
>>609349They don’t all look the same, you can see that. Beans shouldn’t be instanced, they need to be procedurally generated.
>>609349Various sizes and some aren't even bent.
>>609779>>609593That's still a single model with tiny variations. Not like they come in completely different shapes.
>>609782Sure but personally I'd make three shape variations and change the size.
>>608403I don't know you tell me, you're the one getting commissions.
