How do I achieve this look?I know toon shading is a thing, but seeing a few examples like this take it to a whole different level
I don't really see where that 'whole different level' is there in rendering tems, maybe it's the colors or some kind of glow added in post?
>>607847Well I've just seen it translate so well to the point it's barely distinguishable as a 3d model in the first place
>>607843It's just a toon shader with a ramp color.I don't see nothing special.look up any toon shader on blender tutorial.most of the stuff with an anime face is editing the normals.
>>607843dude>>599148>>600912>> blendernpr.orgThere was no need for a new thread.
>>607849That's easy with still images, the problem comes when it's animated and you can clearly see it's 3D, so the problem still lies in the animation IMO
He's talking about the mouth you retards
>>607843Where the fuck is this even from?
>>607928Who cares? If it has a vagina, it's in my book.
>>607894So? Same technique
>>607894Not sure if baiting or just stupid?
>>608042Nah dudehttps://twitter.com/mozuya_/status/754632259559264256He's talking about this so the mouth is visible from the side even if geometry got in the way
>>608075That looks like it takes a bit of playing around with depending on the angles that you are using
>>608075lmao I thought that image on the right was a bad render or somethingInteresting technique, maybe a 2-sided shader?
>>607884>so the problem still lies in the animation IMOThat's why for good looking faux-2D via 3D, you're going to have to hand tweak every frameWhich is a lot of work, but still 1/1000th the work compared to drawing every 2D frame
>>608168sounds completely pointless, but then I saw the mouthbag.
>>607843You could achieve this by putting the mouth on a separate render layer and compositing it on top.
>>608256which would also make even more sense because the eye shadow and tongue was added in AE anyway.
>>608256But with this technique the mouth is hidden from behind, it wouldn't be if it were on a different layer.
>>607843https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XU_3ZxkDO7Uthis make me think of Another World.
>>611054Their constant open mouths makes this look a bit ridiculous.
>>611054looks like the exact same model desu
Ez3D paint is your friend
>>611287Sometimes they close their mouths, but their arms are fucking sticks.
Posting my own stuff.Didn't model anything myself, all preexisting stuff compiled in poser and rendered with a toon shader. Lines were created with comic book preview mode with some touching up in SAI. Mouth, nose and winking eye were indeed drawn on but my aim is to make art work that looks as convincingly 2D as possible.
>>616913>aim is to make art work that looks as convincingly 2D as possible. Then forget the shaders, the rendering, and even the scene building; just pose, take a screenshot, and then trace it in The GIMP and dodge/burn to perfection.
