What is the general workflow for roads in deserts like pic related? Is the road just a texture or its own object? Second question: whenever I work with terrains in say blender, I have a hard time navigating the map texture-painting. If I zoom in or rotate the camera, then the way I've been painting the texture becomes inconsistent. The texture painting depends on how I'm looking at the terrain.

>>607829>is your texture becoming too smallYes. If I zoom in, the texture becomes too small. If I zoom too far back, it becomes too large. If I rotate the camera, the texture becomes angled and stretching usually occurs.
>>607828Pretty sure the road is usually an object, but I think it could work as a texture as well. The lines will be decals anyway so you'd just paint a simple asphalt on your terrain.

>>607858You download WorldMachine or something similar, generate a height map with a bunch of procedural nodes, import your height map to a 3D program or game engine and create your terrain. Simble as fug.
