why can't i find any store that has any?
what do you think about it?
Those 32 gb sound really juicy, can it be my salvation from those horrible 1080ti's?

Pro duo is a garbage card it is simply two Fury X (whuch sucks big balls) slapped together with extra memory.

the only reason it even exists was probably for the purpose of helping gamedevs optimize Crossfire, ehich gamedevs still dont give a fuck about.

Amd Vega Frontier should be objectively better than this and significantly cheaper too.
>>
>>603390
Frontier's old news now and has been proven to be worse compared to a 1080 (not even a Ti!) (src: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVxVIkw0xd8).
AMD just can't make graphics cards. Sure, their Ryzen Threadripper stuff is good and competes with Intel chips very well, but Vega vs Nvidia is just pathetic. If OP really needs more VRAM and doesn't care about price, maybe invest in a Quadro card or sit out till Volta, proven to be at least 20-30% better than Pascal, rolls out.

Vega 56 sshits on 1080ti in cycles render and xertaain productivity tasks.

Nvidia cant make shit they simply bribe gamedevs to gimp superior AMD hardware.
>>
>>603388
It's a dual-chip card, so it's not 32GB, it's 2x16GB, which means you're still limited to a total of 16 gigs for the whole scene. If you're adamant about going AMD, a frontier Vega will do as well. The only two ways to get more than 16GB of VRAM is the 24GB P6000, or dual GP100's in NVLink, but those are cost-no-object options. GP100 is the nuts for rendering though, it's twice as fact as a 1080 Ti in rendering tasks for some reason.

>>603407
>muh cycles
It's still the same noisy ugly shit as usual. But for other engines including some CUDA-centric ones, like VRay, Octane and Redshift, Nvidia is still the preferred choice.
>>
>>603388
ati is shit.
>>
So, the only cheap way to get a good rendering video card is to go 1080ti’s, dual ti’s? Dual 980’s? No radeon only nvidia? Mu whole upgrade budget would get me only1 really cheap quadro
>>
>>603471
Common sense up till now was get fastest single card you can afford, and then add more, so yeah, the 1080 Ti is still overall the best choice as more things are CUDA compatible.
Having two cards does give you the advantage of being able to assign the second one to rendering only, so you can have an active render window and still maintain full viewport performance from the first card.

get a fucking nvidia quadro you plebs.

ok guys, you've convinced me, i guess i can invest in future proofing my desktop at least for a little while, recommend me a nice quadro for workstation, it will be used for unreal animations, vray/arnold product/animation rendering and the consequential video editing of said animation render.
>>
>>605548
The only setup you want now is a cpu Sim based Houdini rig. GPU can be integrated graphics.
>>
>>605550
>cpu Sim based
care to elaborate pls anon
>>
>>605550
Do not use integrated graphics to render you will be kicking yourself down the line. Buy a GPU with your high tier CPU. Spend the money.
>>
>>605553
Render with mantra, do not use anything else
>>
>>605548
Don't buy a Quadro unless ur doing CAD.
>>
>>605554
Mantra looks amazing but it's still slower than Unbiased. If you need a quick turn around with a close proximity to no-noise final frame in half the time GPU is your best bet.
>>
>>605555
ok, so no quadro, because i don't do cad, what other high end gpu do you recomend?
>>
>>605557
Get two 1080ti's if you have the dosh. 3 1070's if you want to save a bit. or Two 1070ti's if you want the middle path. You can mix and match too if you want to just buy one and get one later.
>>
>>605558
yeah i already thought of that, but im stuck when i take into account that unreal doesn't like sli, so each render session would only use one card right? so i could invest in one 1080ti with high ram, or does somebody know something about using sli for rendering?
>>
>>605559
Sli isn't useful for rendering so just forget about it. Maybe with Quadro but it's only for the CUDA support. Your coupled cards just mean you render at a faster clip, you don't increase VRAM for any one scene. And your monitor is taking some power as well.
>>
>>605561
yeah i guess you're right, gotta take into account everything else im doing, so might as well use other card for it, so dual 1080ti's is best, dual 1070tis is nice and dual 980tis is oh well, am i on right path?
>>
>>605563
Dual to triple if you have the money and want to have a super fast turn around. If you aren't pushing out stuff for studio/production quality instances that need stuff at 4K--8K there is no point in spending the money on a 6K plus card or 6K in cards alone. Buy what you need, buy the mobo buy the cards and get to work.
>>
>>605564
Thanks for the encouragement anon, its appreciated.
>>
>>605565
Indeed, have fun and good luck.
>>
>>603569
>get a fucking nvidia quadro you plebs.
dont fall for this lads. you will get 6fps in eevee.
>>
>>605769
atleast you'll have cuda
>>
>>605779
AMD does not have cuda
>>

>>get a fucking nvidia quadro you plebs.
>AMD does not have cuda
wasn't referring to amd
