I'm stuck on a blueprint problem in UE4.
I followed this tutorial:

Also, a friend made a widget blueprint (pic related) to display various images on a plane and the ability to switch back and forth between them. The widget is attached to the menu with the buttons I made with the tutorial.
Basically, I want the buttons to switch between the images when I press them in VR. Also, there's a button to reset the level and another that is supposed to display the controls.

But I can't figure out how to get the button action event to call to the widget blueprint. I've been trying for 2 days now, and the only thing I accomplished was to have the button crash the game. I'm new to UE4 and blueprints and I need this stuff for an architecture project in my university. So I really appreciate any help.

Right now I'm wondering if I even need the widget blueprint or if I can just attach a plane to the motion controller and project the images onto that? Please help.
