So I have a model in unity I want to edit, and I got it to blender using FBX converter. But the original model already has a nice bone structure, is their a way to import a model to blender from unity while keeping its bone structure?

Importing original model like mmd (pmx, pmd) to blender is normally the best way.

Download the CAT plugin in blender, it helps you to translate the mesh and bones and help rearrange the bone armatures. There's a youtube video tutorial for that.

My experience with FBX from unity to blender is sometimes they can't read the binary so you have to use converter but the bones are ugly in blender. Best to avoid. You can try the plugin.
