For some reason, Clover defaults to 3DCG. I usually browse /g, /b, and /v...Every damn day I open this app, and the first thing I see is either a Blender shill or a Blender hate thread...Now I don't know what the hell blender is, but can't you bastards just get along?
>>597043You know you could change what board opens first on Clover right? Also Blender is a free 3D modeling program in which people either hate or love.
>>597043If it helps you understand. Most people are mad that they went to school for 4+ years to get decent in whatever 3D modeling program. They get salty whenever someone learns to use Blender in about a year and produce pro stuff by watching youtube videos.
>>597055Who goes to school for a skill that has to be changed every other week?
>>597043this is what blendlets actually believe
>>597043You know what blender is, you're a blender user and you're afraid to say so. Blender is hated because of it's delusional and aggressive fanbase. I don't mind about blender, it's a good software. But it's fanbase is toxic (which is common among open source software users)
>>597112OP here... I assure you I didn't really know what blender was.Sounds cool, though. Judging by anons description.Still don't think I'd have the patience to animate anything. Last time I tried to animate shit was with Pivot. Kek. Even that was too meticulous for me.
>>597043>>597125At its root, the stigma associated with Blender is that if you were around long enough to remember when it was still a new thing, you'd probably recall that Blender was hot garbage, from beta thru the 1.x versions. If you tried to use Blender like 5+ years ago, you literally couldn't unless you really went all in, but no one wanted to except some diehards.Even if Blender is now an actually decent alternative to the regulars, the automated reaction that Blender is shit has somewhat stuck. And I can't blame others for it, the last time I tried to use Blender back in the day it made me rage.By now a lot of people have already opted to just learn Max, Maya, Modo, C4D or some other package instead, and don't feel like giving nouveau-Blender a chance, because why bother wasting time on something you already have a tool for anyway? I'd rather double-down and get better with the software I do know well.
>>597135Pretty much this. That, and we don't have any actual rules or janitor to keep the speculation fire threads from spreading. People can just make a "defend this, shills" thread or any variation thereof, and feed into that trash fire directly.
>>597043>Clover defaults to 3DCGYou could just edit the board list in the settings dear phone poster.
>>597226You're right... But I probably won't.
>>597136This all makes sense. So I assume you all enjoy the same general craft and just argue out of love here because you have nobody to argue it with irl?
>>597043FUCKING PHONEFAG GO USE FOURCHAN THE NORMAL WAY RETARDED FUCKNUT DIE IN A HOLE EAT MAGGOT INFESTED SHIT CHOKE ON A ROTTEN APPLE FILLED WITH PUS CUM
>>597043Blender is the GNU/Linux of the 3DCG field. You browse /g/, so you should understand exactly what this means and why the situation won't change.
>>597352I get your analogy but at the same time its kind of ironic cause every Blockbuster gets rendered on Linux renderfarms, a lot of VFX pipelines are on Linux, and basically every 3D DCC running on Linux runs better than on Win/Mac.
>>597353That's like saying why is Windows vs Linux even a thing when almost every server, supercomputer or corporate mainframe is running some form of Linux. Reality is that most 3d artists, like most desktop users, use Autodesk products (aka the Microsoft of 3d). Autodesk products are expensive and sort of clunky and ineffecient. They've become bloated from years of hacked-on features and bugfixes, but they have the best industry support and the newest features. Does that sound familiar?
>>597043>For some reason, Clover defaults to 3DCG. I usually browse /g, /b, and /v...Well that explains why we get random /v/ fags every now and then begging us to make their game.
>>597357I only go to /v when there are Steam sales so they can tell me the best deals. Kek. I don't actually browse that place. Its too much. They're too invested.
>>597043>Blender is shit>Clover is shit>Maya is shit>Cinema4D is shit>3DStudioMax is shit>Sketchup is shitUSE AUTOCAD!
