I working on a side project in Unreal 4, and I've found myself stretched a bit thin. I'd like to expand my workforce a bit, but I'm unaware on how I can find folk who are eager to work mostly for beefing up their portfolio. I'm not against paying for talent, since I myself work in the industry, however, my budget is incredibly limited.Any ideas where I should start?
>>596526Nigger no one will work for you for free, especially over the internetIf you really want more people working with you on your project find some people irl who you can get invested in it enough to work on your limited budgetMore than anything if you find people on the internet who are willing to do it, they will never be as driven and may eventually just bail on you to do other more moneyful things
>>596535This. If someone is talented, he has his own projects. Why would he put these aside to help you realize yours?
>>596526>doesn't even start the op with contact infoNot even gonna help you now nigger.
>>596535I'm not saying work for free.. I said I have a limited budget. >>596538I have access to rigs, models, and tech developed that will better showcase their work>>596540Why would I post my contact info on here? I'm not looking for talent here.. I'm looking for a hubs similar to Artella.
>>596526t. idea-guy
Artstation if you're serious Quite expensive to post a job offering there tho.
>>596541People are cynical and pessimistic. If you want that people help, you can't just promise something in return (that's highly unbelievable). You have to show them, show your work, your models your tech etc. and show and tell them how exactly you will help them. You have to be very upfront, also with your budget, you intentions etc. You have to demonstrate that you are able and competent and nice, and even then it will be hard. But good luck.Try polycount, there is a section for unpaid work and collaboration.
>>596541>I'm not looking for talent here.Maybe you're not looking hard enough?
>>596558>>596557Thanks! I appreciate that the recommendations. I do have some work on youtube and a reddit thread/blog showing off the work that's already been produced. So if someone is interested, I just direct them to that so they can see what exactly I'm trying to create. >>596607I'm hesitant about putting myself out on 4chan.. especially since I have my legal name posted on my youtube channel..You never know who views these kinds of threads, so I'm just being safe.
>>596526Artella.com
>>596526Also I'd be interested in working with you or at least seeing what you've got going on and sharing my stuff, if there was some way we could trade communication channels away from this shit-heap. Any ideas?>>Why would I post my contact info on here?Yeah don't do that. Obviously.
>>596686I actually have an Artella account. I need to film a pitch so I can re-open the project, which is on my to-do list this weekend!>>596687Do you have any kind of messenger service? Gchat or skype? I'll probably end up creating one for chatting with people interested in the project. What's your skillset, if you don't mind my asking?
>>596554How do you mean?
>>596688Environment / texture artist. I'd be happy to share my Artstation with you if you can find a way for me to give it to you securely. If you posted your artella I'd hit you up through that.
>>596692Do you have skype or gmail? I created new accounts for you to ping me specifically for this project.Skype and GmailOzymandias282@gmail.com
>>596694No offence OP, and if that is OP I appreciate the effort, but I have absolutely no way of knowing who you are or who I'm giving my contact info to. I'd have to see the Artella really and then I'd ping you through that with everything.Sorry - unfortunately we're at a stalemate because neither of us wants to associate our professional profiles with .... this place.
>>596695lol.. well what if we went to a vola, chatted there for a bit, and then I can give you my youtube channel? Sound good?
>>596695Think it through, you are not giving away your professional profile to the public. You can create a burner e-mail yourself to contact him and then you can talk in private. Just saying, not that i care, but i think your logic is flawed.
>>596695>>596697OP here.. Here's the vola chat for those interested.../r/f458xrhw
>>596692>>596695Ping me on Artella, I've made hidden any of my personal information there, but at least we can establish rapport and collaborate about the idea.https://www.artella.com/#/profile/56c950ba-b89b-4976-99be-202f09b01fec
>>596708Ok - i've got to head out now, but I've bookmarked it and i'll give it a proper looking over tomorrow. cheers, B.('B' is for real my first initial - that counts as progress!!)
>>596526ill work for you man!
>>596554Exactly.
>>596865What does that mean exactly?
>how I can find folk who are eager to work mostly for beefing up their portfolio. You post your game. See this? This is an interesting game. You would get people wanting to work for this game for free because it looks interesting. If you don't have shit, then no one will want to work with you.
>>597667>You would get people wanting to work for this game for freesure, provided that by "people" you mean children and by "work" you mean draw two sprites and quit because they have a lot of homework.it's uncanny that no matter how many times you explain that you need to pay for work people still think they're the one special snowflake that this doesn't apply to.
>>596526try a local college school that does this sort of thing - like a mini work exp or some shit a first refernce for them?
>>596526nah senpai, go fuck yourself with the free work bullshit
>>596541I rather work at mcdonalds than the minimum wage youre proposing faggot
