>>595980Model stuff out using naive techniques, like throwing tons of polys at geometry for the sake of it, use primitive shaders like phong, render using an old version of some raytracer like mental ray, and compress the image using the basic techniques of the time. Wavelet-based compression like in jpeg didn’t really exist at the time, so compression meant limiting the color pallet and dithering. You can get a pretty decent result by using .gif as the format.
