>>592959There's lots of threads here that are utterly pointless, but there's no real rule against making them. This board would literally be two threads if WIP actually had to be posted in the WIP thread (if you discount all the shill threads). Ironically, it would be a lot better that way, but either management or our janitor just doesn't give a crap and it's a free-for-all on this nearly-abandoned board. Anyway, self-moderation on /3/ sucks and we should try to do a better job of shunning people into posting in the WIP thread to keep these useless one-offs to a minimum, instead of them being most of the board.

now this is just completely fucked
my topology now went fubar for the 4th or 5th time while skulptingam i doing it wrong?
>>612471>sculpting>topologyl o l
>>612471>am i doing it wrong? Are you using dyntopo? If so it's difficult to pinpoint the problem, it could be any number of things.Generally if you are using a clean base mesh without any mistakes in it you should be able to keep your mesh under control by enabling a high enough sculpt detail level with one of the collapse edges modes toggled on.If you continue to have problems you may want to consider switching to modelling a good base mesh and using the multi-res modifier instead. As long as the base mesh is good, you shouldn't be able to screw up the mesh while using multi-res.
Also starting to learn blender after messing around with max+vray for a few months, I have to admit I was wrong hating on blender before I even used it once.

If it looks passable, cancel the render, untick Progressive Render, let it render out fully. (or you can just let the Progressive Render go until all noise is eliminated and cancel it to save. Progressive renders will save their final state if you cancel them midway.)Alternatively, numpad-0 to switch to your camera view, shift-z to enter render preview, it'll preview your scene with your depth of field settings too.If you're spending 12+ hours on a render, either you're running a shit tier computer or you don't have Blender optimised. If you have a GPU, go to User Preferences, System, Cycles Compute Device. Nvidia cards use CUDA, AMD cards use OpenCL. It's also strongly recommended you render with denoising enabled. >>631919>those fireflies
>>631923Disregard those, I am rendering on a slow rig and i dont want to waste time with more samples
>>631922>switch to cyclesThat's Cycles. Don't you see the noise?
>>631973Oh dear. In that case, get rid of that diffuse shader and used principled with some proper textures. Get rid of that awful light and use a hdri or at the very least a sunlamp. Also turn on the denoiser I guess.
>>606710this looks like pure unadulterated disgusting aids
>>631924Render panel > Sampling > Clamp Direct: 3 & Clamp Indirect: 1These will help get rid of fireflies.
>>631923>>those firefliesfree extra proteins
couldn't figure out how to get the top smooth like in the video. Am i retarded?
>>592727holy shit, what did you do anon
>>600197what a fuckin waste of filament
Where do I learn to donut. I want to join in on everyones fun

His advice on fixing your topography for looking for weird lighting had me check and I found this weird pinch. What is this. What are those black spots. I think theyre faces but I can't select them and I don't see anything that should be making a face in the wire frame
>>632606Have you tried zooming into them, seeing what happens? If they grow bigger, perhaps they are a window to a better world without Blender. This might be your last chance at salvation, anon.
>>632607They have normals. What the heck. I can't select them and when I zoom in I can't find any evidence of a face being here
>>632608Go into wireframe and select them from there.
>>632608select all faces/vertices Press W, use: remove doubles.
>>632609It let me select them after selecting the faces adjacent to them>>632610Strangely I had already done that, so these tiny windows to anvil hell weren't technically overlapping I guess>>632607Blender hasn't broken me yet
Also a donut
>tfw followed the same tutorial and got to making the donut, mug and plate but had to stop bc went on vacation and now I've forgotten how to do anything on blenderHow much practice does it take for the basics to be ingrained in your small brain? I just want to be good enough that I can make shit on my own without tutorials.
>>632637i think the donut is a bad starter practice.as you can see, most donuts here look like... well you knowdo something EASIER, fuck andrew
>>632666What are some other good beginner tutorials? I really don't feel like going over the entire donut again.
>>632668https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wv-qsxHA9Ughttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay7fgeQC1WIthese looks alot better than the shitty ass doughnut
>>632637Just experiment my man. Once you've got the fundamentals like navigating the viewport and switching between object and edit mode, the rest is just doing a quick search whenever you get stuck.
>>632608>>632611That's interesting. I would like to have a look at it, even if you solved it already. Can you slice that part of the mesh and share it in OBJ?
>>632686>>632712>>632709>>632710>one obvious guy making all the shitpostsDude, stop. Your "random number" filenames aren't fooling anyone. Do it once, sure, we can all have a laugh. Continuously spam it and you just look butthurt as hell.
>>632670>doughnutOkay, firstly they're donuts not dough nuts. Secondly, you're posting in a donut thread. You got some balls trashtalking dessert here, buddy.>>632712small 2d donut
>>632670>lego personGod I hate 2018 so much
>>632670>52 videos before you can model a lego manAnd I thought andrew was stretching his tutorials for more time
>>633406yes that's an overview of every fucking tool in blender (almost). that's why its such a good channel
Well done frenKeep up the great work
>>592727
I didn't finish because I exited Blender without saving on accident and lost my cup.
Here is mineOpinions?
Is this the litmus test of /3/ ? Do I need to model a donut to get into the super secret club?
>>635206No you need to lurk moar, or better yet just leave.
>>635207pls no bully ;_;
>>635206its not even a donut, its a toynut lol
>>635206More like a Turing test if anything. Those smart enough would distance themselves by not making donuts, vice versa.
>>635217only the tards and brainlets don't join in.you made a duck for that thread right? don't tell me you didn't make one of those cube-cylinders for that one as well...
>>635226What in the everloving fuck is a cube-cylinder?
>>635226oi, i made that model lol
I made this today. How do I get the dough to look as good as some of these others?
>>635290For the cream you should increase the glossy material because the one that you have looks like plasticAnd for the dough i would add glossy too combining it with something more
>>592727Retard.
