I kinda like this idea.

Give us your best duck, please.

Make a beer bottle with airplane wings that is dropping down dick shaped bombs

Try this tiger. Make sure you try sculpting in some of the details too.

Sculpting where?
>>

nigga i said "horribly 3D model" not "im gonna try my best to make fucking tigger"

I know, get sculpting. You'll only need 10 minutes.
>>
>>588353
Sculpting where?
Did you even look at the damn whiskers?

>>588355
That tiger is bad ass and should probably be flying the beer bottle airplane. Kamikaze dick bombs may also need to become more accurate, adapting the new duck pilot technology.

As for some fresh. How about a pickle riicckkkk
>>
I'd like to try modeling some horrible 3D models as well, but unfortunately I don't have Blender installed on my PC. Only 3ds Max.
>>
>>588326

if you wanted to do a shitty job at least use the sculpt tool

Prove it.

>>588394
As I said, I don't have a proper program (Blender) to make stuff like that.
>>
>>588324
meh...they're not THAT bad...a little texturing will cover up lots of sins
>>
>>588496
you're overthinking those shills. Just introduce yourself, present us your shitty audotesk offers and leave
>>
>>588496
>As I said, I don't know how to make stuff like that.
Word.

So what program do you use to model that you think is good?

I'll take up where OP left off if people throw out some inorganic objects to bang out.
>inb4 lol typical inorganic
I work with CAD(you know, a real "proper program") not mashing triangles together. Although this was a good thread until half the people getting in on it decided to go straight to blender vs their autism.
>>
>>588530
>this was a good thread
No need for this thread when you have blender general
>until half the people getting in on it decided to go straight to blender vs their autism.
come on, that was literally 2 posts

P.S. stop taking the bait
>>
>>588537
The point is a thread where finishing quickly modeled random objects for some experience to the beginner modeler and entertainment of seeing random shit created for people that usually don't have the time to do so regardless of the program used. We need something ongoing like this in my opinion.
>No need for this thread when you have blender general
>P.S. stop taking the bait
Hah. I could care less. It's entertaining to me to see what people come up with. I don't use a single program 99% of this board uses aside Photoshop anyways. Every board has it, just like /gd/ and Gimp vs PS. If you can't produce you'll always find something to complain about.

>>588316
OP needs to make a comeback
>>
>>588541
I know man, this thread could be interesting. I originally posted one troll post about blender and you started replying so now we unfortunately derailed a thread a bit. I use both Blender and 3ds max, I couldn't care less what program anybody uses.

>>588316

modelling is hard

pic related is my first attempt at a character, it's so frustrating not being able to shape boxes into the proper forms

I'm toying with the idea of just mapping out edge flows on a reference, tracing it with vertices and then moving stuff around like that, anybody tried that 'technique'?
>>
>>592624
Why don't you just sculpt it like everybody else? And then you can watch some tutorial on retopology, or just use some of zbrush's retopology magic. I think sculpting is even easier than what you are doing. And what if you want to add high poly details? Then you're fucked unless you start sculpting over it, in which case all that topology work would be for nothing.
>>
>>592626
I would like to sculpt but don't you need a fairly decent base mesh beforehand to work with
>>
>>592627
If you're confident enough, you could even just use a simple sphere, but sure, starting from a base mesh is perfectly fine. The only thing is - you can do it much faster and easier if you use blender's skin modifier. Here, check out this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-Tow03mlXQ

CG Cookie has some good character courses which also use skin modifier, so you might want to check that out as well.

One more free tutorial from CG Cookie:

https://cgcookie.com/lesson/skin-modifier-base
>>
>>592628
>>592629
Wow, thanks for that. Looks a lot easier than box adjustment

I'll give that a whirl, then - shaping a basic humanoid out of the skin modifier and then sculpting in some (very basic) anatomy to better define it, then retopologising it into something fit for animating

Thanks for the help
>>
>>588348
This is what computers today are capable of
>>
>>588338
You could seriously use that as a character in a low-poly stylized game and get away with it.
>>
>>588348
life like texture ;_;
