Maya 2018 UV toolkit. What are your thoughts on this? The entire 2017-2018 Maya seems to have removed MOST of Maya's flaws imo.Pretty much my favorite modelling and UV mapping program now. :DImage from YT. Not mine.
live booleans arent up to Tor Frick's standards. Modo is still the master race and yes you will get caught and a letter sent to your house demanding money if you pirate it, even for noncommercial use, regardless of where you live
>>587692>live booleans arent up to Tor Frick's standards. Modo is still the master race"Hmm, I might give this one a try after all...">and yes you will get caught and a letter sent to your house demanding money if you pirate it, even for noncommercial use, regardless of where you live"Guess I'll stick with Autodesk."
>>587700>stealing is cool guize heh heh heh
>>587691Yes Maya 2018 is amazing. It's pretty much the only software I'm using for both modeling and animating (along with zbrush of course).>>587703Nobody pays for autodesk software for their personnal use, especially since they came up with their perpetual licenses. Autodesk make their money with big companies. However Modo is affordable ($60 per month until you own it), it's actually affordable for people who aren't rich.
>>587719since they came up with their monthly subscriptions*basically you never own the software even if you end up paying $500 000 years after years after years
>>587720thats how licensing works. I guess its safe to assume you've never been to college.
>>587720Why would you want to own it?Far superior to always get the latest version only when you need it.We have ancient C4D versions lying in the archives of the office. What good is it to own those?
>>587725You're right. Give them to me.
>>587722"That's how licensing works"No this isn't. If you pay the full price for a software, you should own it. This is how it works. You pay once for Modo, you own it forever. you pay once for Cubase, you own it forever, You pay once for Pro Tools, you own it forever. You pay once sor substance, you own it forever. Only autokike does this kind of stuff to milk as much money as they can from studios. And btw, I didn't know autojew employees were allowed to browse 4chan during their breaks, interesting... >>587725Because newer versions are not always worth the price compared to their previous versions, and we should not be forced to pay for upgrading.
>>587722I think it's safe to assume you're a massive cocksucker.
>>587745>No this isn't. If you pay the full price for a software, you should own it.If you pay Autodesk billions for maya, yes, you will own it. If you pay them $1.5k per year, no, no you won't own anything.
>>587691modeling has improvements aswellas someone that stoped doing 3d when maya 2010 came, tried a bit of 2014 but never got back into it, and now started modeling again for fun , i gotta say its wierd seeing maya have so many fun new things to play with, but the bugs are still as cancer as i remember.they need to start adressing thingseven if 2017 (4) and 2018 was better.
>>5876912018 is great. Always annoying to wait for the updates to Renderman and other plugins though.
>>587773yeah, I have not installed 2018 because of that, yet. oh and I'm also lazy ) buuut gonna install it now, because all of plugins that I use are already updated
>>587773Actually Maya 2018 is using Arnold.
>>587773The cracked Redshift version works with 2018.You can play around with that until R drops.>>587774Whats wrong with Renderman, next version will have GPU+CPU combo rendering.
>>587814Are you retarded? He said "It's annoying to have to wait for Renderman and other plugin updates." not "Maya 2018 ships with Renderman."
>>587835suck my dick
>>587773>Rendermanim using 2017 for it, its quite sexiany good tuts if you are proficient iwth it?
>>587719Is this the ultimate good goy!!
>>587736Ancient like pre 2010 m8
>>587722>I guess its safe to assume you've never been to college.>he put himself in debt for no reasoncollege hasn't done anything for anyone in over 20 years you retard.
>>587691You can't remove flaws
>>587691Mayas uv tool in 2017 "the one u use" is really nice and seems to work, the uv tool in zbrush also seems to be a top pick for me as well, sometimes i will actually export some of my models out and remesh them into dynamesh to save time when optimizing models.
>>589092you mean in the art/3d world. Degrees outside of art and stupid shit like that are more useful than you think
