Maya 2018 UV toolkit.

What are your thoughts on this? The entire 2017-2018 Maya seems to have removed MOST of Maya's flaws imo.

Pretty much my favorite modelling and UV mapping program now. :D

Yes Maya 2018 is amazing. It's pretty much the only software I'm using for both modeling and animating (along with zbrush of course).

Nobody pays for autodesk software for their personnal use, especially since they came up with their perpetual licenses. Autodesk make their money with big companies.

However Modo is affordable ($60 per month until you own it), it's actually affordable for people who aren't rich.

You pay once for Modo, you own it forever. you pay once for Cubase, you own it forever, You pay once for Pro Tools, you own it forever. You pay once sor substance, you own it forever. modeling has improvements aswell
as someone that stoped doing 3d when maya 2010 came, tried a bit of 2014 but never got back into it, and now started modeling again for fun , i gotta say its wierd seeing maya have so many fun new things to play with, but the bugs are still as cancer as i remember.
they need to start adressing things
even if 2017 (4) and 2018 was better.

Mayas uv tool in 2017 "the one u use" is really nice and seems to work, the uv tool in zbrush also seems to be a top pick for me as well, sometimes i will actually export some of my models out and remesh them into dynamesh to save time when optimizing models.
