Well? What do you think, brehs? Worth it?

>not just using student's license infinitely
Cuck. They don't even ask for a proof, you can just input that you're a first year student from Congo and get a free software.
>>
>>580412
mate they require valid uni email
>>
>>580409
is it seriously that much for just a year? how much did it cost for a permanent license before they switched to subscription?
>>
>>580413
If they didn't change something in the past few weeks, no, they don't. I signed up just fine without having to type in any uni email.

E.g. for Substance, I think they require an email, but here I didn't provide any and I still have 3ds max 2017, 3ds max 2018 and Remake installed on my computer.

I found a free download https://www.blender.org/

this eliminates the anon

Maya and Max 2100$ each, don't know if the lt was out before the monthly
>>
>>580417

Fuck off blender autist. Nobody uses your crappy open source software in the industry.

>>580412

The student version puts watermarks on the fbx files. If you sell a model to someone and he opens it in maya a message will pop up saying that the model was made using a student version. OP could get in trouble.

OP, go for it, it's totally worth it. If you only want to do poly modeling and animation you can buy Maya LT instead, it's infinitely cheaper and all the modeling tools are included.
>>
>>580439
I'm not sure about FBXs but you can remove the student version popup on Maya Ascii files by editing them in a text editor and deleting the "fileInfo "license" "student";" line.

>use some amerifat sofftware which spys and steals your work making you to the slave iof US politics.

the truth is that the shit with US politics came so fucking pervert level tht i dont want to buy or pay any american shit. i dotn want to waste my time and money on something and then be baned from work or entrance to a country in which i made myself depend in my career or existence as an artist. getting blender makes you literally independent from some fucking amerifat nazi or facsist who has a badge of immigration or "political thingins office" shit.

and if you think i am jocking. the entrance to american art job and product market for east european artists right now got literally regulated by some fucking "black lists" of CIA and east european goverment. no fucking joke. a friend of me got contract to draw some murals and job in 3d games company only after he signed some US embassy papers about his political views. shit wnet paranoide on a level that he runs one of his workstations only european 3d programms now.
>>

trips dont lie. Used to do it myself and it also automatically opens up without showing that student license window. Saves you a click.
>>
>>580447
Fun factoid: Don't know if you know this, but Autodesk *doesn't* work for the CIA.
>>
>>580444
>>580457
Last time i tried this in 2017 it no longer works.
>>
>>580459

sure it doesnt. it works with them. autodesk is one of main grafic software supplier to US goverment organisations.
>>
Just fucking pirate it the Autodesk programs are insanely easy to crack compared to the Foundry cucks who fucking send 50 top-secret agents to your house to if they see someone pirated their programs
>>
>>580463
>Just fucking pirate it the Autodesk programs

i have surprise for you my friend. ALL programms instaled on modern computers are registred on your IP linst. pirating is fucking hard shit to achieve today. especially when you go into business.

I honestly think Maya is the best all around 3d software program existing, the second one is unironically blender simply because of the fact they add new shit everytime to it (if only they tweaked the interface). I'd pay for Maya if i wasn't a poorfag, using Modo or Max is fucking pure retardation tho. Oh also if you think you can handle true software hell you can get Houdini, insanely powerful but pretty hard to learn, if i was you i'd probably do something like this, Houdini+Blender for pure modelling.
>>

m8 its not like he will be using his pirated Maya on his GTX 1060 computer with a 4 core Ryzen to create scenes for Pixar movies. If its just for learning most companies will not give a fuck, except the Foundry, they can suck a dick.
>>
>>580466
>If its just for learning most companies

dont count on it anymore. most companies will cash in as soon he will go small business. good luck to prove "i took online classes" shit.
>>
>Pirated Maya/Max
>Pirated Zbrush
>Created assets transported to Blender
>output from blender for games
>to Unity ofc.

here is your indie developer starter pack
>>
>>580464
Piracy and business never goes well, nothing has changed.
But pirating hard? You must be retarded....
Its getting easier.

>>580469
Thats not how it works, THEY have to prove it, not the other way around.
Also what is an air gapped workstation?
>>
>>580474
>Piracy and business never goes well, nothing has changed.
Piracy and business ofc doesn't. but using the pirated program to learn and THEN using the paid version while in a business is ok.
>>
>>580439
Can you not just push the file through blender or UE4 and eliminate that problem?
>>
>>580483
Nope, it won't work. The watermark is there to stay. Just freaking pirate it, you can find the 2018 version on rutracker.

>>580447

Autodesk don't go after indies, they go after game companies. I see no point in using blender, my goal is getting a job in the industry. No game studio uses blender.
>>
>>580439
no one in the industry pays for their personal software, their place of employment does.
