Are all tutorials complete bullshit?
>>576207No. They teach you how to actually do something. They make sure that you get to know the tools so you can use them and improve yourself later.
No, if they are genuine tutorials. Blender tutorials on the other had are made by preachers who are running a cult and are not meant to teach you anything useful, just to put you deeper into the cult.
>>576217That's not what people like >>576221 say.Even if I weren't using Blender, I'd still be asking if tutorials were needed for something like Maya or ZBrush.
>>576207What does this even mean? Tutorials teach no matter what, can show features you never knew about; I don't believe for one minute anyone can understand a program just by dicking around and learning on their own. Someone out there needs guidance to learn.
>>576207OP being a fag as usual>>576217>>576221>>576246/thread
>>576246Again, try telling that to >>576221.
>>576250What's the point of getting good at Blender anyway? There are no jobs for Blender users. Not even in the furry porn industry.
they are bloated with ads, have a stupid intro, mostly are "beginner tutorials" that teach me nothing and most of the time the tutor is rambling , is sick or sounds like a goat.it's stupid to make a 30 minute video about a 10 second feature.why can't they make a short 1 minute video that does what the video title says, no, let me show you how to download blender and how to install it... fuck them
There are other places than youtube you know. Professional tutorials are great.
>>576270sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't. this maya nhair tutorial i got off cgpeers was kind of shit. at one point he was going through the parameters and it sounded like he was figuring them out in real time himself and his advice was basically "uhh just mess around with these yourself and figure out what they do."
Tutorials that show you step by step how to replicate their result but not much else = badTutorials that teach concepts and explain the process = goodIt's that simple.
>>576253I'm just working on the hobbyist level at the moment. If I wanted to do industry stuff, I'd just look up Maya or zBrush beginner tutorials.
>>576283Besides, Blender's the only 3D program that'll work on my PoS computer without crashing or slowing it down to the point of uselessness.
>>576253there are alot of inhouse blender artists.one of them even works at elite3d, which is a place no one on /3/ will work for.
>>576300>there are alot of inhouse blender artistsLooks like they're keeping them well hidden and separated from the general population. I wonder why.
>>576305Just like parents of autistic children do.
>>576335I dunno, you'd be surprised by how many parents like to film their autistic kids and post that onto YouTube.[/tangent]
