How far have you guys and girls came as 3D artists?
>>
>>573027
> girls
Lol
>>
>>573039
He's including the fe(males), which amateur 3D attracts like honey.
>>
>>573027
honestly your topography is still looking like shit.
There is ton of optimization to be done.
>>
>>573027
How did it feel to be in december 2017? Was the earth still intact?
>>
>>573082
As a beginner lurking here, the word "topology" started to scare me. You are all so harsh about it and I don't know how to learn how to do it properly on my own. I can't even see anything wrong with the models usually.
>>
>>573376
dido

i want to know what fuhr ture is liCe
>>
>>573398
topo is super important if you want to high poly. if you want gamedev you shouldn't care about it.
>>
i don't understand why yall up in his ass.
his weapons are fine but they are tasteless since there is no texture
>>
>>573418
Why are people so offensive towards every beginner on this board?
>>
>>573429
>>
>>573431
self punishment - the image
>>
>>573417
its not important at all if it doesnt deform.

>>
>>573431
That's a great quote, but the problem is that I often see sarcastic shitposts instead of actually useful feedback. I'm not asking for a praise, but if I get roasted when asking for help, then what's the point being here.
>>
>>573434
I'm sure the kid thought the same way in the beginning of whiplash. The key is to never be discouraged no matter how many shitposts and insults are thrown in your way. If you can't handle that, you can start posting your works in deviantart where all you'll get will be "good job"s and you won't improve above mspaint furry level.

Now get the fuck out of my class.
>>
>>573429
To toughen them up and weed out the weak ones.
>>
>>573398
Nigger just-
This is on the first page of google for "3d modeling topology":
http://topologyguides.com/
It's not that hard to just fucking google shit.
Fuck.
>>
>>573506
your topo ONLY means shit on deforming models, newfag. Stop spreading fake news

to here. Still got much to learn though
>>
>>573517
looking at how that coffee table is sitting on the rug is seriously fucking with my brain.

i like the rest but i really don't get the coffee table. is it floating? was it photoshopped in? why does it look like it doesn't belong there?
>>
>>573536
looks because the table legs are not the pushing at the fuzzy carpet strands proper
>>
>>573545
that and the lighting is weird.
Where are any of the shadows?
Sure they would be pretty soft but you should still see them.
>>
>>573507
So.... then it's going to be really important if OP or anyone reading this wants to make deforming models or use subdivision surfaces. If you have a bunch of faces in the same plane, then yeah topology doesn't matter, but otherwise, it's important. Really with a static mesh, as long as it looks ok, anything goes, but you'll have an easier time making it look ok with good topology, edge flow etc.
You are fake news. 4/10, got me to reply.
>>
>>573517
Stop lying Anonymous
>>
>>573545
>>573548
Ah I see what you mean especially with the carpet. Lighting's a tricky thing sometimes too
>>573562
I'll take that as a compliment?
>>
>>573517
let me guess, 3ds and vray?
>>
>>573562
It's not that hard. He already said he didn't model everything here, and it is easier when you are following a tutorial (architecture academy by blenderguru).
>>
>>573571
Btw, repeating pattern on the sofa is extremely visible. That's a big no-no, so fix it.
>>
>>573561
>>573507
Does that apply to all modern games or just some low poly stuff? Is it a problem if I make some of my static models with multiple meshes and just put individual parts inside each other instead of connecting them as a single object?

I'm a professional freelancer, doing it for 2 years now. But it's fucking boring and I'm going back to university in September. (Sorry to burst your bubble, but working with artists is sheite).

>>573517
Increase the light samples, looks a bit crunchy. Otherwhise good job. You can see it on the lamp. Decrease the area lights on the windows slightly. The wall above has to much specularity. Righthand wall has no material and is slightly too dark. But really good job.
