Hey /3/, is it considered bad if I start modeling a body with splines? It seems much quicker to me than beginning with the box technique. I am far from experienced, and I know jack shit about all this.

If it's faster and easier for you,and the end result is the same, why not?

As long as the topology and endresult is good, it doesn't matter if you box model, use splines or masturbate to mongolian porn.

Already you have too many edges to fill out the larger forms easily, and the edgeflow is bad.

Use whatever technique works best for you to develop your model. I'd personally stick with box or sphere since its easier to control the edge flow and polycount since I dont have to worry about closing any holes.
