when the resulting mesh is absolute trash?

don't know what you're talking about, brah.
looks fine to me. bools ftw!

Hardops is pretty simple and good. It just marks sharps and veves pretty quickly. The problem is that people who use it also like to use the boolean workflow.

Shitty topology is because of that, not Hardops.
>>
>>563059
Why do you care if the mesh is trash? It doesn't even need to be made of quads since you won't use subD or animate it like an organic thing.
>>
>>563059
Hard ops is for fast prototyping. The creator stresses in most videos that you have to clean house and fix things here and there.
>>563064
No its not because of booleans, its because of idiots who don't know how to fix shitty topo.
>>563094
The mesh gets messy if you don't know how to use it, like rebeveling your bevels, or sidelining your booleans.
But overall i only have to merge some verts here and there and triangle some faces or make some bisects and thats it.
Sounds to me like Op suffers from user errors.

What is with this sculpting shit when the resulting mesh is absolute trash?
>>

When "5 years of experience" and art degree modellers try to act cool and throw 2 million polygons on a object that would good the same with 1/5th of that.
When these modellers in professional studios spam triangles like it aint a thing while if I try to use one everyone jumps on my dick yelling that im retarded.
When these artist have never heard that there is no such thing as razor sharp edge in the real world except on razors.
retarded shit like this >>563060 coming from people that have a job

I could go on but Im getting upset so I will stop.

is basically a hoax that can't work without BoolTool which is free
>mesh is absolute trash
you have to retopo after all ther crappy booleans

Who are you quoting?

nice try but there are no meme arrows ;^^)

What is that chamfered box with a generic sci-fi texture even supposed to represent?

A crate

Keep on wallowing in your self-inflicted ignorance.

It represents a way for an artist to create a dense amount of Surface details in a relatively short time with an easy going workflow.

I've used it and continue to use it sometimes. Mesh turns out to be garbagey though indeed, which I mean, it's whatever if you're not deforming it at all.

Personally I encounter too many errors with it that require me to completely reset my blender layout, and that's a deal breaker.
I've used it for some boolean-related stuff but I don't look booleans much so my use with it is limited.

15 € + tip for a bunch of macros with cero value
isn't retopoflow looptools crowdmaster the manuel bastioni thing or something that worth is just like the Quick Tools Add-on

Optimizing meshes to perfection isn't worth it nowadays. The time spent reducing everything to the bare minimum polycount is basically a waste of time and resources for whatever company that is hireing you.
There is a thing called rounded edge shader or mesh smoothing. You don't need to bevel every edge like you seem to think.
Get with the times.

>Optimizing meshes to perfection isn't worth it nowadays
In games, and especially for phones, yes, other than that no
>>
>>563115
You can always use rounded edge shader and bake it in the maps. Much, much faster.
>>
>>563059
That's not even a hardops pic tho, that's decal machine, which just uses normal map tile sheets as decals you place around your geo AKA Star Citizen technique.
>>

your point? citizen is a trash-looking game
