Hi /3/ kinda of a noob question, i've just started blender and i'm following Blender guru tutorials.Where can i find complete sets of materials containing all the types of images like pic related?
Amazing but it's not free is "poliigon"
>>562438this, but they have some free textures including the one in OP.
>>562437Blender Cloud has quite a few textures you can use, but there's nothing for free.
>>562437Blendswap has free materials of varying quality
>>562438go back to bed, andrew
>>562437There should be free PBR materials in textures.com and from substance.
>>562533I don't get why he has such a big following. I mean, his tutorials are helpful for the complete noob, but I've found that his end results pale in comparison to what that Russian guy (Gleb something) is capable of. Plus he's always trying to sell you shit while most people pick Blender for a reason (hint: it's free).
Pay for substance painters indie license its only 20 quid a month and you have access to shitloads of good materials on substance source and substance share
>>562610you may not like that he makes money off it but he provides a valuable service for the blender community.
>>562610Gleb Alexandrov is not as good a teacher, even though he is a much better artistThere are 10x more "beginners" than there are intermediate or advanced users
>>562610Those textures can be used anywhere, so it's just another texture site, I mean if it was specifically for blender, they should've at least put some kind of mat lib addon to use their textures better like other paid blender texture websites.

Hey guys, I'm a beginner with this and almost complete noob with shaders. How many people are actually making their own shaders for every project? I mean, I get it if it is something unique, but if I need some normal glass or wood material, is it wrong if I just use something premade?
>>563456You need to know the basics, find some pbr tutorial and use one of the docens of materials online for generic things, that's the Andrew Price tutorialshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3wghbZ-Vh4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1PkSViBi-M&t=1782s procedurals and things like that are usually harder for noobs, you can download that there's lots
>>563458thanks. I'm using arnold with 3ds max, it sucks that I can't find many tuts on that yet.
>>563415His tuts are short and easy but i cant stand his accent. I like him tho.Motherfucker didnt do the accent in a conference so dont know what gives
