I think it's a must for repetitive tasks, of which you're gonna have a fuckton when rigging. That being said I'm a programmer by trade so I naturally find it easier and less boring than other people might, and part of the blender scripting API is kinda fucked up (especially for armatures).

Make sure the eyes can rest visually. If everything in your scene is exactly like this then the eye has a hard time dissecting the environment. I think they look good, but if you do this for everything it could cause problems in your environment in terms of the eyes being able to rest and process what they are looking at.
