This show is selling like hotcakes and the 3D ain't even that good.Substance over style everytime dudes!
>>557895Just goes to show that all Japs care about is how fuckable something is regardless of whether it's utter shit or not.
>>557895whats its goddamn name?
>>557895There is something called cutting your losses during fast production time. You can only do so much so its best to balance things out.Autistic shits on /3/ seeking perfection can continue mastering their reloading animation and charging 3 million dollars when they sell them.
>>557895It actually became the best sold anime of all time recently.
It's got cute characters and a cute premise, "normal" folks won't be able to tell what's wrong with it. At most they'll think, "Hmm, this part looks a bit janky." but those moments will be few and far between.Just another thing that caught on and'll lose steam about a month or two from now at most.
>>557900Kemono FriendsHaven't watched it, didn't realize it was 3d from the few screenshots that I've seen from time to time; thanks to OP though I'll be sure to buy the boxset
The Japanese have had godlike 3D tech for centuries, they've just been hiding it from us.https://youtu.be/q7LeHvKuDrs?t=40They can transform 3D models into humans! They can transform humans into 3D models! They can convey fluid, dynamic motion in a way that us filthy westerners could never fathom, all while teaching us *really* basic Japanese! And just look at those blendshapes! Mwah! Perfection!
>>557895>CINEMA 4D によるアニメーション作業の例。>ツールこそC4Dだが、作業自体はいわゆるりミテッドアニメーションに即したオーソドックスなスタイルだというI wish my japanese skills weren't complete ass. I could barely read that sentence. If they used C4D for the shading, that's pretty fucking impressive, because that program is finicky as hell with its NPR shaders. The outlines look really good.No idea how they pulled that off in that program. I thought the japanese 3d animu studios all used xsi or something like that.Unless that shading is just static textures painted on, in which case that's a little shitty.
>>557958Have you ever used its Sketch and toon shader or are you just repeating what other anons said?
>>557966>Have you ever used its Sketch and toon shaderYes. Extensively.Turns out I was wrong, and the show looks awful when moving like most CG anime do. They didn't use sketch & toon's shader for this anyway. Just the line system. The outlines look nice when paused, but bad in motion because it's constantly redrawing lines in places it shouldn't.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeq2M6_sJP8(0:26-0:30, is extremely noticeable).Turns out they also drew the shading into the textures, and it isn't affected by the lighting in any way. It's literally RWBY's technique, but with japanese texture artists and some post-processing.I went in impressed, and came out disappointed.
>>557895is this show for 6 year olds ? it sure looks so.but then most of the anime crap does.
>>557954>mesh Erin is cuter than pudgy-faced Erin.what went wrong
Just remember, /3/. If you can model this, you can rake in the big bucks.
>>558243but not in Blender probably.
>>558243are they eyes real eyes, or just a texture? also it doesnt have a mouthis animating textures harder/more work?
>>558247no, the eyes are not real eyes, this is a 3D model.
>>557896God dammit bioware
>>557896>>558249Both of you give Bioware too much credit.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaQvLE4TCmshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGjWOO5I31w
>>558246That looks like a Blender manipulator though.
>>558243Are the forearms just moved into position and combined with the rest of the mesh? Because that's one funky seam connecting them them into the rest of the body..
>>558246>>558285There's the retarded blender 3D cursor right smack dab in the middle.
>>558307ugh, I know that you can model such crap Blender but no professional studio uses this shareware shit app.
>>558247animating textures is whatever. rigging textures is a cunt.those eyes are geometry tho, and I'm assuming the mouth is done by animating textures.
>>557895>Substance over style everytime>posts something that got popular because of its style
>>558344>3hit combo shitpostnot bad/10
>>557895do you perchance have the other pages of that article?
>>557958>I thought the japanese 3d animu studios all used xsi or something like that.Yaoyorozu isn't so much a studio as it is a handful on animators in a basement.
>>557969it sorta is but it's also sort of a Westworld-lite what with the progression of hints regarding the protagonist's identity and the setting being
post-apocalyptic
so that got people interested beyond just watching animal girls be animal girls. Came for the moe, stayed for the plot, that kinda thing.
>>558356It got popular because it's fun.Nobody cares about 3D.
OP if you judge it on its animation alone then why is South Park (made in maya) so popular?
>>560114ooh this.also>C4Di'm impressed. it actually looks better than that trash-tier RWBY, made with SFM. but as OP said: style over substance. some queers actually dig that shit.
>>557895>>560150sorry i misread that. substance over style? i'm pretty sure just like RWBY it has a story that i would not greatly enjoy. the people who like it here in the west are the most weeaboo of the neckbeards. they like this show because of the loli characters and the ones who watch RWBY, i assume like it because it caters to their gay agenda. no noteworthy substance at all.
>>560151You say that at first and then you notice the B29
>>560151Actually this show also has a gay agenda.
I think it must be a propaganda by the Japanese government to promote zoos and parks. It cannot be anything else.
