There's a distinct lack of demand for 3D artists where I live. What are some other ways to make money off of 3D modelling?
>>550693You can try to rig them. And, end up in the credits of a FPS game.Ask "hyper" for that.
>>550694i wouldn't even mind doing porn. I do a bit of sexy character art anyway. But I have no idea how to put myself out there for that kind of work since I've never done porn and don't have a following for it.
>>550696Probably not all that different from Instagram networking. Set up your profile, like a Tumblr, and comment (reblog with a comment) on other people's work and eventually someone will check you out. Also tagging, but unfortunately the default search on Tumblr is this search enginey method that looks for words in posts and not just tags and NSFW blogs don't show up in that search, they only show up in /tagged/soandso searches. And you have to set your blog as NSFW if it's NSFW, or else you get deleted. Could also use an Instagram of tamer renders and put up links to each profile, lots of info on how to get popular on Instagram. Then you can put your commission info / Patreon / whatever on there.
>>550693>>550694Porn like OP pic (Disney cartoon style) is very, very rare. You should make porn with that style & you get a lots of money, anon.
>>550693I make money off wallpaper commissions. Some of the good ones I sell on Redbubble as prints and shirts as well. It's not a ton of cash or even a livable wage, but it's a good way to get the odd steam game here and there. It's mostly passive once you get people buying on Redbubble. If you want to make good money, keep an eye on current trends and pretty much pander to whoever will pay you. Or don't, and make what you like. Chances are someone might like what you make enough to commission something.
there is no money in directly modeling and texturing unless its for gaming.the local industries which are mostly vfx and archviz just buy premade models or make something crude themselves.otherwise animating can be useful as well. so yeah don't do 3D modeling unless u plan on being so good that someone will relocate you.
girls with tits larger than their head and physiologically impossible sex acts
>>550755I didn't make OP, but I have a similar style. Say you make porn like OP, where do you even sell it?
>>550755Pretty much this. The only 3D cartoony porn out there is shit like Mongo Bongo and Vaesark, and they just slightly mod pre-made freeshit.Make cartoon porn and open a Patreon. Remember one of the truest marketing mottos: "You don't have to be the best, so long as you're the first".
>>550810>Say you make porn like OP, where do you even sell it?Patreon, but the only porn consumers with dosh are furries. So make yiffy shit, preferrably gay / futa shit and pander to whatever the current trends are.
>>550693make porn aniamtions on tumblr, make a patreon, do commissions, share it in chan threads on /aco/Sell your models on second lifeSell your models on turbosquid / renderotica
>>550962I'm in the center of fetish dispersal and feet just got phased out for armpits so judging by how long it takes memes to disperse to outer social layers, feet will be a thing in stronger force next year and then armpits in 2019.Though dabbing got on a TV commercial very fast for a meme on TV, maybe it'll just take a few months in 2017?How quickly are we generating and tossing aside fetishes?
Dabbing...yet another black invention that has absolutely no purpose beyond being ridiculous and something they can call their own. Meanwhile white america catches on 6 months later and by the time it's mainstream the blacks have started another new stupid trend or word.
You could start your own company and do animations/stills for ad agencies. That's what I do and it works quite well. You could also try becoming a Houdini expert. Good Houdini artists are generally in a higher demand and make more money.
>>550693Honestly the only reason why I'm on this board is because I'm looking for people to help me with my game. I'll pay cash. You guys should set up a site for this. I don't really know where to find artists. I've looked on upwork but they charge way to high or they are some shitty artist from india. I'm just a wanna be game dev with $100 art budget
>>551167>I don't really know where to find artists.polycount
>>551167Seconding polycount as a place to look. But what kind of asset are you looking for for $100 because that will at best that will buy you 5 or 6 hours of time with an okay to good artist and that is a generous estimate.
>>550947>Make cartoon porn and open a Patreon.Holy shit this. If you can animate at all, DO THIS.There are fucking Patreons for people who make SFM porn, the easiest shit possible using all community nude models (so no modelling skill needed, but animating) that are making several grand a month.Do that shit all original and the skies the limit. There are some artists that make their own assets and animate in far better software making like $8000 a month.Look how much this guy makes for his text adventure porn game with really basic supplementary art.https://www.patreon.com/user?u=121401
>>551258While we are looking at patreon porn.https://www.patreon.com/oxopotionThere is this guy, making a porn game with actual good art and animation. Unfortunately he is making a pittance compared to that furry text adventure game, but still just enough to live off if you are not in an expensive city.
Anyone know of some real research on correlations between fetishes and the income of the userbase, or more usefully fetishes and the amount of money people spend on it.
https://www.patreon.com/fek Making almost $300k/yr for yiffy 3d
>>551359Yeah there's a fuckton of money in doing furshit, even if you aren't a furry, the amount of money those people throw at commissions is ludicrous.I'd imagine if you were able to make quality looking *appealing* 3D furry stuff, you'd be one rich motherfucker.
