>he thinks he wont make it into the industryyou guys literally have nothing to worry about. have you seen what kind of games have been shilled out recently? anyone can make it. yes, even you
>>528952classic naive level of the common r/3/tardwhat do you even know OP
it's more based on location reallyno use creating art in a specific style if no studios around you use it. unless you're willing to move i guess.
>>528952no one can make it not even you.
>>528986>that head on the leftThe fuck?
>>528983>>528984>>528985>>528986What are these unoriginal tryhard pieces of shit ?
I thought the characters on the left where troll edits. What fucking retarded character design. I also had no idea battleborn even launched. How were they stupid enough to try and compete with Overwatch?
implying gearbox knows how to make a game.
>>528952Like I said in the mass effect thread I cant believe how much game art has degraded. Compare old game textures like silent hill to modern games. These textures are just colors applied to models The wrestler guy has no material definition it's all the same gold. The guy with the trench coat has those meme wrinkles everyone does, why would wrinkles ever be so sharp?
>>528986>>528985>>528984>>528983The worst art direction.
>>528952>game made 0 dollars>somehow has even fewer players>Gearbox cries itself to sleep every nightThis is not industry standard. This is far below it.
>>52910310/10 execution tho
>>528986Oh I am laughing
>>529103His arms look like Challah bread
>>528952>>528983>>528984>>528985>>528986why do all the edits on the right look fucking retarded?
>>529893because you have shit taste Pitchford
>>530198ah, this is why I always come back
>>530198you cant seriously think they look good right? they look fucking retarded. silhouettes are very important in vidya, and at a glance you can clearly tell every single character from each other due to unique silhouettes - even if you change the skins the silhouettes dont change which is pretty important in a character-centric game.plus the whole premise is the last heroes of the multiverse essentially - why the fuck would they be human, human2, human3, blue humanoid, red humanoid, creature-but-with-human-proportions. youre a retard.
>>528952What saddens me, is that the industry is slowly, but surely getting rid of generalist. Gotta specialize and shit. But I just want to make pretty things.
What is the easiest 3d job to get? I don't care if I'm paid shit I just want to do 3d for a "living." With so much 3d printing around now there must be businesses who need modelers for replacement pieces or something shity like that.I have no desire to get into the video game or movie industry I'd be willing to work for a logo company or any design job for a client or whatever.
>>530685maybe look into archviz, the skill bar isn't that high and I hear employment can be steady.>>530405are you talking about games? I have no idea there, but in commercial kinda houses there is some demand for multi disciplinary artists.
>>528986Great, now the right one is a Numale
>>530397Yes they are, but this shit takes it too far
>>531725These are dogshit. You would not be able to distinguish one another in motion if they were just these silhouettes.God I wish people would stop sucking gaben and blizzard cock. They are fucking artistic cancer.
>>531800t. Gearbox cuck
>>531800Gearbox has been going nowhere but downhill since borderlands 1. There is a good reason people aspire to be like valve and blizzard. Silhouette is important, but it isn't the only important factor in distinguishing something at a a glance. You can forgo the absurd and poorly designed proportions of Battleborne's heroes and still have distinguishable characters.
>>531866human, human, human, human, blue human, human, fat human, would have been a better choice - silhouettes aside. they should also probably all be from earth.
>>531800blizzard.. artistic cancer.not being able to distinguish tf2 silhouettes in motion.ok
>>531866>Battleborne's heroes and still have distinguishable charactersin the sense of "yep that sure does look like a poorly designed character" then yes. at a "glace" you can tell a battleborn character from something with thought put into it. but lets be real here.. are you trying to defend battleborn?
>>528984>>528985>>528986B I G H E A DIGHEAD
>>531800As much as I dislike TF2 as a game the art direction for it is flawless in almost every regard.
>>531819>>531866>>531884>>531906>>531951>>532031Keep reaching for that low bar /v/-tards.Valve and Blizzard are complete shit compared to film animation standards. Again, stop sucking their cocks, they are fucking terrible.P.S. Never said shit about Gearbox or Battleborn which are obviously also terrible.
>>532131real-time rendering is the future, your 'animation standards' exist as garbage because everything being watched is pre-rendered. vidya is what drives animation to get better and faster; closer to real life.
>>532138not the guy you're replying to, as I think some video game work is good and it doesn't have the same requirements as film, but>real-time rendering is the futureI mean, it's definitely getting better, but if you knew more about the subject and especially what is required to create film-level content you would realize this is far from a universal statement. first of all, the UE4 kite demo is far from what kind of quality is needed for many applications, and the Unity adam demo, while closer, obviously relies on a lot of tricks anyway and is definitely benefited by the fact that they're all machines. Even then, it still falls short quality-wise.second, if you knew anything about film pipelines and what is needed, like corrective blendshapes/shot sculpting, muscle/skin sims, very high fidelity like with displacement maps, and much more advanced shading than is currently possible in a game engine, then you'd realize real-time rendering's applications fall very short in many areas.but I can see it being good enough for some things with lower standards/reqs.>faster; closer to real liferendering faster and getting closer to real life are opposites, though; the problem is that video games must push speed/optimization which prevents them from getting close to real life
>>532131>Valve and Blizzard are complete shit compared to film animation standardsapples and oranges, cucko.
>>528983you forgot to fix "her" face
>>532141>posts family guy for kids while spouting meme insults while defending shit while being wrongI got nothing. Have a gif.
>>531800on the contrary, it's even easier to distinguish when they're in motion because of their animation.
>>532143spoken like a true defeatist
>>532131>>>Valve and Blizzard are complete shit compared to film animation standards.you hav eno idea what you're talking about, so please sto posting. I've grown in video games industry, and worked few times with companies that make movies - their motto could be 'make it pretty' - while any tech background is retarded beyond relief - i saw textures that have 8k x 8k resolution with area of 30 x 20 px actually taken by something, rest was pure black. Of course, these are borderline examples, but come on, dont speak when you dont fucking know what you're talkign about, i could write a book about stuff thats wrong in CG film industry.
>>534314If "make it pretty" is their motto then they are already better than video games.Optimization is the cancer that kills art.
>>534314>8k x 8k resolution with area of 30 x 20 px actually taken by somethingSo what, they have tons of ram.
>>534317makeshift pre-recorded puppetry vs real-time interactive simulation
>>532131>>532131>>531800>idiot gets BTFO repeatedlywattafaglol
>>532031well it was flawlessnow it's extremely flawed thanks to cosmetics. At least most of the maps still look pretty.
>>531922No. I wasn't defending Battleborn. Why the fuck would you think that? did you even read the comment you're replying to? >You can forgo the absurd and poorly designed proportions of Battleborne's heroes and still have distinguishable characters.>absurd and poorly designed proportions of Battleborne's heroesclear enough for you, retard?
