With VRay RT, iray and Octane is there any reason to buy a quadro card?? Provided the GTX series seem to have better bang for buck, making 3d rendering times faster without paying so much $$$$

Rent time on a render farm, it'll be cheaper and faster

Curiously, how much does a farm cost?

But I want to render sexual acts between animals and humans.
>>
All the professionals I've heard of who use VRay RT or Octane use GTX GPUs, usually multiple Titans or 980 Tis.

none yet, not rendered. Though I'm sure /aco/ has some.

Quattros are relics. There is no reason to use on today or really any time in the last 10 years.

Two reasons to use Quadro:

1) You're doing retardely huge shit in Octane, since it loads the whole scene into your VRAM, so you need the 24gb VRAM or whatever shit.

2) This is assuming the sales pitch about Quadros is factual, but they're particularly useful if you're a HUGE fucking company that's gonna have a lot of systems running a lot of them, ALL the fucking time, with them running at high load a LOT -- the apparently "more efficient power draw" will save you on your power bills ...... apparently.

Really though, aside from particularly high VRAM need, fuck 'em.
