Anybody else use a Kinect for 3D scanning?
If so, programs used? Any tips to make the models not look as shitty as they do?

Right now I use KScan3D for turntable scanning, Scenect for room/ larger object scanning, and Mudbox+Meshlab+Photoshop to touch up models and textures.

Even if you was using a $15,000 laser scanner and all that shit you would still be using the scan for reference to remodel them with a clean mesh. if you want higher quality photogrammetry use a good camera and not a kinect.

Not entirely sure about getting image maps on Scenect but KScan3D is giving me 16K textures or vertex painted models.
