Have you been looking for any kind of tutorial on something random or overly specific that you just can't find? Or even if the subject is strange or taboo and this just had to find information on? I'm looking for ideas for tutorial vids I could do, but I don't want to just make the 10 millionth "how to model a head" tutorial.

Yeah, I haven't found good tutorials for blender for a streamlined way to create large backgroun envrionments like this one here I created.I now know how to do large mountainy forests, but I don't know how to do fields, rocky things, other shit without it looking like shit. I'm interested in blender.

I was searching for inner sharp corner adjusted to smooth surface topology tutorial for hard surface modeling
>>
>>523914
why would you do that in blender
>>
>>523902

Personally I think to many tutorials are paint by numbers. It would be cool if someone could do a tutorial that was more free and allowed the watcher to deviate a lot with their own ideas.

CG geek has a bunch of scenery stuff for blender. Honestly I see a lot of the type of stuff for blender on youtube.

Cause it's a hobby for me and I don't wanna torrent, pirate and learn 10 million programs. Blender and cycles are hard enough for me to learn in my free time, I don't have time to learn clarisse, 3dsmax, vray, renderman, etc.
I don't want to "work in the industry".
>>
>>523927
>implying 3dsmax is hard to learn if you already know how to use any program
>implying vray is hard to use if you want to make non professional renders
>implying you can't just use iray.

>I don't want to jacksparrow because i'm a goody two shoes
fuck off.

fuck you, you dumbass shitter, not everybody is a basement dweller neet retard like you, I don't have all the time in the world
>>

seriously. It must be hard to see any light when your head is so far up your ass.

Not everyone wants to learn these gay ass programs. Some people just do it for hobby. I know, I know, its hard for you to think outside your fat self/ego but just bare with me for a minute.

Outside of your parents house is a whole world of people just taking one day at a time and some of those days can be so busy that you actually obtain a full time schedule. Are you still with me or are you already thinking of your next post in which you green text some more and act like a child? OP wasn't putting down any of those programs. I believe what they meant was that a program alone, just one, already has a learning curve, especially if you don't know anything about 3D. The learning curve, especially if you have other shit going on in your life, is going to be the one thing to make or break you into the program but once again, I'll reiterate because I know you weren't paying attention; some people can only focus on one thing at a time and with such a big learning curve of any 3D program, the dude just wants to do this as a hobby. I know that's hard for you to wrap your brain around but it's true! Some people don't want a career out of this shit. They are just curious you fucking faggot

You either use the right tool for the job, get another job, or you try to impose your will on circumstances you cannot control and fail miserably.
Also there is a reason not many people do tutorials for huge environments with blender.
>>
>>523981
>use the right tool for the job
You'll go nowhere with that attitude kiddo, what happens when there's no tool for the job? I'm now pretty sure you're just some basement dweller that probably does 3d porn and thinks highly of himself without any experience working "in the industry". Fuck off.

Which bring to mind what would be a viz-a-viz 'good' how to, and would why not be a more sensible choice
>>
>>524020
wut?
>>
>>524020
>uses "viz-a-viz[sic]" to sound educated
>misspells "vis-a-vis"
>rest of the post is unparsable
If there is actually a thought behind what you said, you do it a disservice.

No need to get so meme-y. Calling out a fedora used to mean something specific, but you guys who have abused this image have made it possible to call fedora on basically anything. In this case I'm pretty sure you went full fedora on the word "disservice" which is pretty dumb.

If someone posts about how much of a white knight they are or how their atheism makes them a better person, you can post that picture again. Until then keep it holstered and fight the good fight with us when the right time comes, /3/pot.

Are there any actual suggestions now?

I've spent a couple hours trying to get cloth simulations into source engine. (Curtain blowing in wind). I did succeed after finding some valuable information in forum posts. If this interest you i can mention more of the path i took.

How small but very details game maps are made(like PT, its clones that are still in dev, new resident evil demo). Do they chop whole level into several smaller chunks and give them unique details, or do they use some modular pieces and then add decals or some other tile-breaking components?

anything about modeling hard surfaces/robots.
