Your toughts on Render Man?
I've been playigng around with it for a bit and things look prety good, but they always have a "cartoony" feeling to them.
Have you tried it?
Is it worth learning?

It's fucking retarded

Here's a challenge for you

Create a material that uses the alpha channel of a texture as transparency in RIS

And yes, that IS a challenge, with only two solutions
>write your own material shader in whatever shading language they use
or
>Don't use RIS and go back to their older rendering system

being able to use (read and write) RSL 2.0 is the heart of PRman. The only people that should be using PRman are people who understand what they're doing at a deep level with many years of CG experience not iray babbies.
