Hey /3/Just finished this Judy rig I've been working on over at /co/, and I though I may as well post it here. It is for >Blender, and can be acquired here: mediafire.com/download/5u5h59bmmifuxcxIt is also up on blendswap if you prefer. There are some things I'll be fixing soon, but I'll wait for feedback to make other changes as needed and then update it.Anyways, hopefully you guys have some fun with it.
>>517547Can you do Elsa too ?
>>517548Well, I don't know, but I'd image there must be a half decent rig already by now...I couldn't in the short term at least because I've got a backlog of homework from trying to get this done.
>>517550Theres only one available, But...Its low poly models from a mobile game...
>>517550There's one user on TurboSquid with a bunch of amazing Frozen recreations, but they all cost over $200 USD.
>>517554Not $200 It was $600
>>517555Hence why I said OVER $200 dollars. The cheapest I saw was $300 but I only checked out the Frozen content.
>>517547That's crazy, so well done. How long did this take you?
>>517557Also is not worth 600 dollars though since the model is kinda uncanny
>>517558Glad you like it! I've been working on it for just under two weeks.>>517559Yeah, it looks really weird. From what I can tell that is because the eyes are pointing too far apart from eachother. Otherwise it is workable.
Sorry, massive noob to Blender here. How can I reset the pose to be the same as it looks when I select the Armature in the Outliner?
>>517565To reset the pose select all the bones in pose mode and hit alt-g, alt-r, alt-s
Nice, looks like the official model
>>517566I tried that, and it doesn't work.It only changes the pose a little bit.I noticed however that even when pressing A in the viewport to select all, only some bones were selected. So I sat there and selected them all by hand, pressed Alt-G+R+S, and it still didn't work.
>>517547Can you upload an fbx. Thanks.
>>517569That looks quite bizarre, I don't quite know what went wrong there unfortunately without being able to see more. To be honest this is a fairly complex rig, so it will be hard to work with if you don't have much blender experience."a" will toggle selection of all the bones in pose mode by the way. What I think is going on is that you need to change the IK/FK properties and the pivot property. In the readme I explain where those properties are located when the rig script has executed. Make sure it has run by opening the script and pressing alt-p over it.>>517570mediafire.com/download/uj4di687b8oey69Do note that a lot of work is required to get the fbx working, as a lot of not exportable features are used in the blender rig.
teach me your ways
>>517575Lots of image layering.
>>517576I'm still real new to the 3D stuff, this just seems amazing to me.
>>517577Not OP, by the way. Just seems like that's how it was made seeing how movie accurate it is.Kinda wish an IK-less version was packed with the OP's .blend, it's a pain disabling all the constraints just to see what's connected to what.
>>517578Im still tryin to texture my first character and now I'm playin action figure.
>>517578You can change if it uses IK or FK by using the slider underlined after selecting any arm/leg bones. That Rig tab might not show up until you run the judy_rig_ui.py script from Blender's text editor.
>>517580Oh shit anon, thanks.Just one of the perks of using rigify or whatever, I guess.
Too bad there's not a way to save Cycles hair settings as a mesh. (That I know of.)
this stuff's pretty fun.
>>517599blender fur looks awesome
>>517600apparently so. that'll be a fun thing to learn.
>>517564> under two weeksdid you really had to lie about it ?...
>>517602>did you really hadNot everybody is as clearly retarded as you anon.2 weekss to make this is very reasonable. There is very little detail on the model so if you know what your'e doing the actual workload isn't going to consume a lot of time.
>>517599how do you control the face, I can't find the face controls
>>517607Check if there is a camera named something to do with facial controls.
>>517607See >>517580The face and mouth layers are hidden by default, so you need to show them using the panel in the picture. If it doesn't exist, make sure the script is run.
>>517603> guise I made the same thing a pixar team made in over a month in less than 2 weeks xDDThis is cringeworthy...
>>517601not much to learn, really, you get a virtual brush that you can use to brush it in 3D, you get to control length, shape, kinks/twirls/etc, amount etc, and you can put any shader on it you likeit's pretty intuitive, I would say, the first time I tried it out (without a tutorial) I pretty much immediately got photorealistic results (just make sure to put a partially translucent, partially anisotropic shader on there -- translucency and anisotropy are the two defining features of the "hair look")
rolling for epic name
>>517614>SkinnerThat is great
>>517614The fuck is actuallu habben here and why do i got vivian rose on my last post ? Wait... vivian... vivian... vivian.. i think that sound familiar..
>>517612it's by disney studio, not pixar. And while this model is really nice, it's clearly not nearly as detailed or finely rigged as the original one. Also, the disney team made many characters, not just one. This one also just has the default blender fur applied to it, probably just based on a default human rig, etc. You can bet everything is custom on the original disney one.I have no big issues believing he made this one in two weeks.
>>517612A skilled person could make this over the weekend if they poured every ounce of their time into it. OP probably worked on and off over those two weeks, and you can still tell that he had to be dedicated as fuck to get the level of accuracy he did.
Would take me months to make this as I am so autistic. Can you bake fur to a texture in blender?
>>517612Actually the body is pretty basic and generic, he might have just took it from somewhere. The face is just as simple as well. And if he just slapped a readymade rig this can easily be done under 2 weeks.
So..SFM port anyone..? :)Perhaps a nude bunny version? Yeah?
>>517631No. Fuck you.Get the Fuck out. Rabbit Fucker.
>>517635Why the fuck not? Give me 2 legit reasons that don't include learning, as to why anyone would want to use this model, or any copyrighted character for that matter.
>>5176401. You are an Furfags.2. People who make Furry Porn should die.Simple
>>517631I'll port it for SFM soon. Rabbit porn here we go.>>517641It's inevitable. It actually surprised me that nobody attempted pr0n from this rig so far. Enjoy r34 :]
>>517642Excellent my good friend.Excellent.
>>517547>>517642>>517644Oh god, No.This is Your fault, OP.This is Your fault
>>517547Couldn't you have used this as a portfolio piece. Now you will be associated with whatever these lunatics come up with.
>>517647Who says he can't use it as a portfolio piece? One of the artists from Steven Universe drew porn of their characters. Cartoon Network didn't care.Stop being such a fucking sour grape.
>>517647I wouldn't be the one making the porn, so that is a non issue for use in my portfolio.
>>517650post your folio
>>517548You again. Fuck off with your fap fantasies.
>>517652You too. Fuck off with your furry fap fantasies.
>>517653I haven't even seen the movie.
>>517655But you want to fap to this model.Furfag.
>>517649>>517650Thats not his point. Now anyone can also show this as a part of my portfolio and say that they made this model.
>>517657>and say that they made this modelThat's incredibly fucking retarded logic.First off, no decent 3D artist is going to claim works that aren't theirs, especially when applying for a job.Second, since only a shitty artist would claim works that aren't theirs, it would be blatantly fucking obvious that the work doesn't belong to them. You're basically saying people shouldn't release source files since others can misuse/claim its theirs.
>>517656Nice perspective projection matrix you got there.
>>517659I'll just take this bunny model he gave and release it under another name that I made up just to make a point. I'll even pose it like a pornstar^, add a rigged furry dick and port it to SFM people so they can turn his work into just another furporn character that amateur animators can abuse all they want.
You can always claim other peoples art as being yours. woop-de-do.
>>517612didn't check but just from the pics i've seen it seems far, far beyond AAA studios standards. Not undermining OP's work though, it looks nice and it's great of him to share it, but yeah
Alioto should make a Judy model.
>>517686mouth, tongue, individual facial muscles, fingers, toes etc are all riggedit's pretty far up there
>>517689> i did this in less than 2 weeks guise trust me xDDkek
>>517689I'm a complete blender noob, I've ran the script and see the options but moving the handles around does nothing? How can I control these?
>>517692first off, on startup it asks you whether you want to run scripts or not, say yes, it will reload the file.then go into pose mode, this allows you to move bones around by rotating (r) and grabbing (g).when in pose mode, you should now on the left side get a panel with extra controls (below the grease pencil) with options to switch between IK/FK, rig head, face, mouth, arms, legs, toes, etc separatelyalso note the many different layers below in the layer-switcher. Bones are on layer #2 (but just keep all layers visible at all times)
>>517693I have the rig panel, but moving these does nothing to the mouth/lips.I'm probably missing something obvious lol.
>>517694nvm the script didnt run properly, Reloading it fixed it.
>>517694are you grabbing them with g while in rig mode?
>>517696Also make sure you reloaded trusted, otherwise the controls don't work.< example
>>517689>mouth, tongue, individual facial muscles, fingers, toes etc are all riggedi certainly would hope so, these are pretty much the minimum requirement for a character rig. Again, I don't want to be a cunt since it's great that OP shared his work (and everyone commenting on it looks pleased with it), but seeing the screenshots here i don't believe for a second this compares to a feature film rig. But hey, no biggie, i was merely responding to the dude who thinks it's impossible to rig a charcter in 2 weeks
>>517699I interpreted the "AAA" as meaning an AAA game production. I would say this is easily up-to-par in terms of quality with many AAA game rigs I've seen. I've not worked in film, so I don't really know what the rigs look like there. I can imagine that some of them are much more complex still and have many more features.
>>517641Making furry porn is a good way to make a good amount of money.
>>517701TFW you are thinking about doing it because you need the money but you would rather do ass to ass.
>>517698thats what it was.All is working now.
>>517702There is a fairly good couple sayings to go with this.''Do what you like and the money will come.''''If you are great at anything someone will pay you for it.''With furries you don't really even have to be great to get paid.
>>517707>implying SFM consumers are better>implying any cartoon porn consumers are betterI hope you're not serious.
>>517709Not really implying anything. Someone was being pissy about furries. I am merely saying that it's a good option for commission money.
I'm going to try and convert it for Luxrender. Thanks for the new training exercise, OP.
>>517704neato.>>517707I never understood why furries in particular are so derided on the internet. Guess I don't really give enough of a shit to find out either.>>517713Do you even need to do much conversion for that? If you just load it up in blender with the luxrender plugin, shouldn't you be able to basically just press the render button?
>>517715Because Furries = Animals
>>517716So? Some people are into kids, poop, cannibalism, ... seems rather harmless in the big picture.
>>517717>So? You're the part of Autism, anon. Along the people who into kids, poop, cannibalism, etc.
>>517547Uh Oh anon. You stole it, didnt you ?Its ok if you stole it.its 4chan anyway.http://www.cgrecord.net/2016/04/download-zootopias-judy-hopps-rigged-3d.html
>>517718kek. oh well. I guess my levels of giving-a-shit are just below the rest of the internet populace.
>>517715>Do you even need to do much conversion for that? If you just load it up in blender with the luxrender plugin, shouldn't you be able to basically just press the render button? No. Lux and Cycles have completely different node options. And I believe that goes with every other renderer too. I think the Luxrender team are trying to make an option that will completely convert a Cycles material into a Lux material. It works well with simple materials. Although from doing a little work in it already it Luxrender makes material setups a lot easier. With that cloth material I don't have to mess with all those cloth bump maps.
>>517723The model is unmodified and the credits to the author (matching the author from that page you linked) are in there unchanged. License is also unchanged.OP might or might not be the original creator, but he is re-distributing the model legally as per the license and with the original credits.
>>517723No, check the threads on /co/ in the archive. I posted multiple wips there that you won't find elsewhere.>>517689To be honest I must agree with those saying this isn't all that close to a real production rig. I would need to add a lot more controls and flexibility to get there. I could to that if I put more time into it, and I might improve upon it soon, but in its current state anyways the rig itself is not terribly impressive.
>>517718Tone down the absolutism shit, son, will you?
>>517718>Complaining about autism on 4chan
Make a naked one please. To put clothes on her of course.
>>517657If you try and say you did it but couldn't make it you'll be fired immediately anyway.
Finished. Jody Hopps, Luxrender edition. Still a bit noisy. This was literally my first time posing anything so pls no bully. Thanks OP for providing this model. Also fun fact: The belt is made out of leather.
>>517715They used to be very annoying in the early days of the internet but that's all gone now and pretty much only 4chan cares anymore.
>>517715Remember how bronies were in the beginning? That's why. But possibly worse.
>>517757>>517758Except people have given animals human bodies basically since we learned to read and write. It's nothing new.
>>517765We're talking about on the internet.
Is there a way to "delete" an IK setup, and just keep the regular bones?I'm not an advanced user in the slightest, 3DCG is just a passtime for me, and I have no desire to learn how to work with IK. (Unless it's actually really simple.)
>>517547This is absolutely one of those days I'm so happy I logged into 4chan instead of listening to my conscience. Thank you for this
>>517547this shits fuckin weirdI hate blender so much, WHY cant it be normal at all.
>>517766>>517765We're talking about people who take it to the extreme, anthropomorphising is nothing new.
>>517547>>517599>>517704>>517715>>517756These are absolutely amazing, guys! Very well done. Showed some of these to some non-channers and they were summarily impressed as well. Inspires me to look into this myself.
>>517779um... you can just disable IK and use FK instead, but we use IK because it's way easier than FK.IK is like "put your hand here" and then all the other bones follow suit and do whatever is necessary to move the hand thereFK is like "put this angle in the elbow, put this angle in the shoulder, put this angle in the wrist, ..."
>>517792Both have their merits, in my experience. FK allows for more explicit control without having to fuck with the pole target, for example. IK is usually best for endpoints you don't want to move, like planted feet or hands.
>>517647I don't think it would look good on you to remake something someone else made.
I couldn't figure out how to do face movements right away so I scrapped that bit for later. I'll get around to it next time. Took 22 god damned minutes to render on my corpse of a computer.
>>517800more lewd posesfor the people asking for SFM ports, I'm pretty sure you're going to need to make a decent fur texture first.
>>517717It is because people who are into kids, poop, cannibalism, doesn't go into the streets talking about how they like kids, poop, cannibalism. Also, they don't usually have events where they gather and wear suits that looks like kids, poop, or cannibalism.
>>517803The problem here is that, aside from poop, being into those two other things is illegal, but being a furry isn't.
>>517547>blenderYou wasted all that time, half of it was probably spent fighting the interface anyway.
>>517810Shitpost harder m8
>>517810I know this is bait, but I'll reply anywaysThere some number of people are going to try and port it for Maya, chances are it is just a matter of time. I've used Maya a little, but since I used blender first and have been doing so for 6 years, I hardly consciously think about the interface anymore, and I work fastest in it. Use what you know. Besides, I enjoy scripting in Blender much more, as the application and api is brilliantly designed around that. Modifying the interface is super easy if you can handle baby tier python, which I'd know because I hardly know much python myself, and you don't even need the source code to change most of it.
>>517812do you have steam ?
>>517813I'm assuming you mean stream? Yeah, I do. But I'd make a new account for this.In the off change you mean steam account, yeah.
>>517814Steam as in Gaben account
>>517547I'm not a rig or animation guy, so my pose sucks, but great job OP!
>>517816I am usually not logged in, but my account is plonuu>>517817Looks great! These renders that people are turning out are great!
>>517818why u no use steem :'c
>>517547>>517756No "alternate" version?
>>517819literally not enough memory. While making this for example, I crashed my computer at least 20 times. I have 8GB, but since this is a >laptop, 2GB is shared with the video card, so it is more like 6ish effectively. Things like stream tend to be quite heavy when added up.>>517820Nope. I doubt it will be very long before something is made however...
>>517802Fuck I was going to do that when I get home. With a baseball bat and everything.
Hey op how did you get so much hair with a low particle count?
>>517823There are about 8000 main hairs on the head alone, with 65 child particles for each of those. The child particles are the final hairs you see, while the 8000 hairs define where the generated child particles should point. There is a panel for child particle setting in the particle menu. In total, that gives about 520,000 hairs.
This is amazingly done OP. Is there any chance you could do a Nick rig too?
>>517850Is there any other way I can contact you ?
>>517851I'm not OP, but try his steam account >>517818>plonuu
>>517852got it thx :)
>>517756After letting it render while at work, this is the cleaner result. Please rate.
>>517856Doesn't look as good as the cycle ones, IMO. Fur color etc is also a bit off, but whatever.Do you have SSS on the ears? The ears look way better in cycles, IMO.The lux fur on the face also looks really weird, IMO. On the ears it's nice, but on the face it just looks really sparse and sporadic.Nose and mouth also look like they are missing SSSfur on the feet also looks a bit weird, not as rabbit-like as the cycles one.
>>517857>Doesn't look as good as the cycle ones, IMO. Fur color etc is also a bit off, but whatever.Cycles has a more dedicated hair shader and also has more tuning options. Whereas For Lux I had to just mix a glossy and transparent shader together. The color might be because OP might have tweaked the color values a bit on the texture. I didn't.>Do you have SSS on the ears? The ears look way better in cycles, IMO.No. SSS in Luxrender is a bit more complicated. In Cycles there is a dedicated SSS shader but in Lux you have to use volumes and mess with scattering scales, scattering colors, absorptions and absorption values.>The lux fur on the face also looks really weird, IMO. On the ears it's nice, but on the face it just looks really sparse and sporadic. Not sure what you mean by this.>Nose and mouth also look like they are missing SSSSee reason for SSS above.>fur on the feet also looks a bit weird, not as rabbit-like as the cycles one.Maybe I still need to mess with the material some more.
>>517859If you look at e.g.>>517853or>>517817, the hair on the face looks pretty fluffy, loose and regular. In the luxrender one it looks more like it's only a couple white hairs on a really gray skin. Especially if you look at the bottom of the head, where it almost looks like there's no hair at all except for some sporadic white hairs that are sticking out.Makes it look kinda ugly, IMO. The cycles one has a more luxurious, even, soft look to it, I think.Except for the top of the ears, where the lux one looks really fluffy.
>>517860I see what you mean. And it could be my material, or it could be the angle it is at and the light brightness. Maybe there would be more detail if I cranked up the lights a bit. I'm trying to fix my material right now.
What makes better looking hair, solids or triangle ribbons?
>>517866blenderguru.com/tutorials/how-to-render-hair-with-cycles/This has a good breakdown of the hair settings.
I may not be a furry, but damn is this bunny cute.
>>517871You are now
>>517860I figured out what was wrong with the hair. With Lux's new auto conversion feature it also make a light grey hemi lamp causing to be lit from every angle. Now with that gone I'll see how it looks in a while.
>>517871;))))(pubic bones a little fucked up because the vertex weight in the original model was a bit fucked, and I didn't bother fixing it...)
>>517880>(pubic bones a little fucked upNo, that's a bulge.
>>517882yeah.... oh well.
>>517883'tis a fine line to walk. Pubic bones so hot tho.
>>517547after playing around with it for a bit (I'm not an experienced animator or anything), some feedback:- I think the mouth could be a bit more flexible- tail should be rigged IMO- pouches could be rigged- extra drivers would be nice so that you could just e.g. close eyes with a slider or use a single slider to make ears flop backwards/down etc.
>>517792Well thanks for actually telling me how to do that, because the script doesn't appear to be doing anything when I highlight FK and unhighlight IK.
I played around with it a little, it's a really nice rig setup, probably the best I've used out of all the ones I've messed around with that are available on Blendswap.I did notice though that the head fur can easily clip through the chest piece. Had to comb it for this image for example. Sucks that Blender is still so shitty with particle hair systems that it doesn't have any means of temporary hair edits for animating, as far as I know. Probably wouldn't be easy working with this for animations.
>>517898There's probably a solution for that, since e.g. cosmos laundromat and other blender-made videos feature a huge amount of fur. I don't know how to do it, but I bet you can keyframe the hair settings/combing/length.
Is there a way for this rig to work with maya?
>>517910You could try exporting to collada, no idea if it'll work. collada does at least support bones and such, but you'll probably end up having to do the materials, hairs etc, at least.
>>517872post the webm
Can someone tell me where the camera is/how to operate it? When I render, all I get is a teeny-tiny judy in the middle of a 1080x1920 view
>>517915I gotchu senpai
>>517547Wow! That was made with blender? Wow that's amazing
This would work a lot better if someone made a Nick model. Sadly I just don't know how to do that.
>>517917Can someone tell me how to change the fov on this rig? It renders judy too small..
>>517924fov is unrelated to rig, it is set by your camera. I don't think the .blend comes with a camera by default, just add your own.
>>517924At the top click "reload trusted". I don't know why it does this.
>>517925it does come with a camera, it's just hidden on layer 9.>>517926well that fixed it, thank you so much!
>>517927One problem though. If you want to save your work you have to use 'save as' instead of just normal saving and just save over the original file.
>>517926The reload trusted is required because of the scripts and drivers. You can enable a auto run python scripts option in the settings to avoid it in the future.Finished a little animation.Sound version here: puu sh/o46PC.webm
>>517898Basically the correct/endorsed way to achieve stuff not clipping through eachother is to enable physics, which will take care of it.If you really do want to manually control it though, enable AnimAll and then you can weight-paint things such as Density, Length, Clump, Kink and Roughness separately for each keyframe (see my shitty 5-minute render)
>>517547Any chance you'll make her Meter Maid outfit since it's so similar to the police outfit? All you'd have to add is the vest and hat.

Is there a version for Max/Maya?
>>517547Thank you for putting this on Mediafire. I wanted to get it, but really hate the paywall of blendswap that doesn't benefit the artist... I'd love to make a donation to you for the effort you put into this.

>>518058OP here, just curious as to why you think the model might be stolen? As I mentioned, there are wips posted on co in the archive, and in case of and doubt, see pic related. I have just short of 100 version saves of the project all the way through making the model.
>>518062the model is from a movie thats still in theaters, Zootopia. It doesnt matter if its a recreation or not. Its stolen. Its not original. Its furry. This is the worst type of shit. Gb2 wahtever furry board you were on previously pls, this is not the place
>>518062
Can you zip them all and upload them somewhere pls
>>518025not bad, but could use some more determination and flow between movements (looks a little robotic as is).not sure if it helps, but i'd look into traditional animation techniques (e.g. squash/stretch and exaggeration) since disney seem to incorporate those quite successfully in their 3d animation as well.
>>518064Right, why would spoilers be enabled on /3/? Stupid me.
>>518056there must always be one in every thread, it's practically a rule at this point
>>518063Why are you here in this thread!
>>518071so this type of thread never happens again.
>>518063Ahh, I see. I'll agree that original work is more interesting, and I typically enjoy it more. This project was mainly to learn more about getting hair/fur to work, as I haven't done any projects with that before. I copied the model because that is one of the best ways to learn, study from the masters. That aside, >you'll care or believe me, I'm no furry. Just enjoyed the movie, and as above this was a learning project. Now, I'll preempt the obvious response, that I'm being a furry enabler by simply saying that's not my problem.>>5180644.1GB is more that I can upload reasonable. Besides, there is little point.>>518065Yeah, I'm backlogged with a bunch of homework, but after I'll work some more on it. I mostly need to exaggerate a lot of the motion, add more movement to the face, and "sharpen" the motions. I didn't have time to do that before rendering however. I'll look into how squashing/stretching looks too, thanks for the tip.
>>518073>Besides, there is little point.>I copied the model because that is one of the best ways to learn, study from the masters.Literally the same post, friend.
>>518073>This project was mainly to learn more about getting hair/fur to work,If you want to learn how this works you have to read and understand the source code and papers behind it. You have a shallow understanding now at best, and you're results arent good, barely above Nvidia HairFX level. You wasted a lot of time and you have a bad attitude, like you know everything. This is one of the reasons why you get hate
>>518077HAHAHAHAHAHA oh wow this guyI've been on the internet for a good 20 years now, but this must be in the top 10 of the most retarded things I've ever read
>>518077> you have to read and understand the source code and papersReading source is not how you become a good artist. Reading source does almost never further your understanding of how to apply something artistically.Secondly, there isn't much to how fur works. I have read the source of particlesystems before, written some myself. At the basic level, it is just "take a tube/cone/fan and extrude it along this [bspline/bezier-curve/other subdivision curve]. No point in reading papers about something so simple. Now, modern renderers are a bit more advanced than that, they let you do things such as have forces act on the particles (to get clumping, twisting, kinking, ...) and can do physics with them. But there's nothing fundamentally interesting/new, it's all basic geometry, numerical interpolation.> shallow understanding now at bestHe certainly has a better understanding now from an artistical perspective than you will likely ever have.> you're results arent goodThe only thing here that isn't good is your grammar. That aside (and that everyone in this thread -- and elsewhere -- agrees that cycles fur rendering looks great), feel free to show us something you made that's better! j/k, of course you can't, because you've never done anything of worth whatsoever.> Nvidia HairFX levelAh, I see you've never seen nvidia hairfx. Granted, in recent years game-hair has become acceptable, but it's still worlds away from OPs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKpPiXRnPkg look at this or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md4Hmgtl8q0 this. This doesn't look nearly as good as what the OP got, even though the camera stays a mile away from the hair at all times to avoid showing you the ugly.> you have a bad attitudeonly one here with a bad attitude is you; OP is a pretty humble guy. He even posted his rig for us to play around with and critique, and it's the most quality post /3/ has seen in months.> why you get hateyou are the only one in this thread hating

>>518072>the hero /3/ deserves
Will you do Nick eventually, OP?
>>517878>>517880I've been messing around with this model for a while now and can't figure out how to render it with the armor and belt hidden. Every time I hit F12, it renders the stuff I've hidden...
That one insecure closet furfag shitting up the thread with >MUH STOLEN
>>518142Did you uncheck *both* the eye icon and the camera icon? Unchecking the eye will only remove it from your viewport, but unchecking the camera removes it from your render, too.
>>518145Thank you. I knew it had to be something stupid simple I was overlooking.
>>518025LOL! That was awesome. :^)
>>518144Your moronic self never once adhered to even one of those points. Therefore neither me nor anybody else is required to since this started as a shitpost fest. Thanks for playing, better luck next time, loser.Polite sage.

>>518200> no vagina> no tits> no ass> nothing sexualim okay with this.
>>518209Yeah, there's a signature too.Don't ever expect this to not happen when releasing a model of something from a popular cartoon.P.S. Don't be surprised when whomever first ports it to Garry's mod is accredited for it's creation forever more.
>>518200I hate you guys so fucking much.
>>518200>>518213that sig better be OP's
>>518200>>518213Wait a second, the dA has some wip pics, and that would make the "naked" pic a wip too.Thread OP, that you?
>>518200aaaand someone stole OPs work. Told you this would happen.
>>518219Calm down, the account's probably OP's.
>>518221I doubt that's OP, Xanaeth is a different person, and I don't think Xanaeth uses Blender. If OP would like to clarify please do.
>>518223Why are there wips from March then?
>>518205It'd be really easy to add those on though.A 10 minute job.
>>518229this>>518200was a 10-minute job (hide armor, change pants color to skin/fur material), adding those bits would be more work, especially if you want it to look great. The topology of the model in the groin-area is a bit screwed-up, so some re-meshing might be necessary there.
>>517701Whore by proxy
>>518234you have something against sexworkers or something?
>>518200This is most definitely not my model. Not only are there copies of this image that existed before I even stared making my version according to reverse image search, it doesn't look all that similar.
>>518219>someone stole OPs workIsn't OP's work considered open source since he uploaded everything that has to do with it?
>>518257Depends on the licence.
>>518257>lololol I can claim I'm skilled at something when I'm actually notI mean, I wouldn't give two shits about some manchild playing pretend if there wasn't a concrete possibility of others actually believing you.
>>518258Creative commons zero. That means anyone can do anything with it, right?
>>518260It's public domain then.
>>518259I know it is retarded to do so but I'm saying legally he can do that.
>>518262Nope.Moral rights aren't waivable in the civilized world. And CC0 is a special kind of public domain. OP can't release his work in the public domain, he doesn't hold the rights to it, Disney does. Judy Hopps is a copyrighted character. He may choose to distribute his file freely, but Disney can take it down whenever they want, just like any other piece of fanart. Not just that, even if it was a completely original piece, some jurisdictions prohibit you from voluntarily surrendering your copyrights.Public domain means the copyrights have expired, or they never existed in the first place due to some special law.CC0 means the author wishes for his work to be public domain, but a court of law may not recognize it as such.
That's all i can do. The first time i ever used a 3d software.
>>517723Wait, so did OP steal the work or what? I never bothered making a blendswap account, what's the difference between what OP posted and this .blend? If OP took it and improved it somehow, I'm sort of okay with that. If they just look really similar that's pretty understandable too, since so much concept art and actual shots from the movie exist (and it's a relatively uncomplicated / cartoony character)
>>518270I can't edit facial animation(i move teeth and such), what am i doing wrong?
>>517871You've changed her personality in a single pose. Interesting.
>>518271Yes, OP made it.Any retard could figure that out if they checked the date on that link the accuser shared. This thread was made on 03/31/16 at 8:23PMThat website shared it sometime the next day, given that the URL says 04 (April) of 2016.
>>518273read the warning at the top of your screen
>>518273>>518280Or the fucking thread. Fuck.
>>518263> but Disney can take it down whenever they want, just like any other piece of fanart. No, they can't do that. Fan art is protected by law.
>>518281Okay, i figured that out but then i reload script in trusted mode, face works but FK arm controls won't work anymore.
>>518072Thanks for being a watchful guardian Anon. You applied for a janitor position yet?
Time for my stupid question. I've got everything working and want to edit some parts of the model and it's textures, but the mesh is green and unselectable. Can't even click it. My question is, what is going on? Why can't I go into edit mode or change the model's materials?
>>518290Green means the model is in a group. I put all the rig and the meshes into a group named judy to make appending into other scenes easy. To answer your question, go to the outliner where all the objects are listed, and check the cursor icon between the eyeball and the camera. That disables selection, which I usually put on meshes in a final rig so increase selection speed and make selecting bones easier.
>>518292Alright. Thanks. I wanted to animate some stuff, but my computer is too old and low quality to do anything serious without taking hours.
>>518293Yeah, animating with this model as it currently is set up is not very feasible. >>518025 Was only renderable because I have remote desktop set up on my main computer with semi-decent GPUs.
>>518291>those handsso velvety soft looking.. Imagine how they'd feel cupped around your balls
And so I made this, don't know how to import tanks and Hitler with textures though.
Quick and sloppy animation test to see if things look okay with settings turned down. I want to see if I can turn the fur back on without causing it to slow to a crawl.
>>517547Dang op I wish this had more access to judy's facial bones. It's not squishy enough ;-;
>>518307Here's with different camera/lighting.

>>518375>They must feel really dirty for this fap.Not only for using blender, let's not forget that this is furry territory at this point.
>>518366Oh, I do. There is however one easy to spot retard that posts the same things over and over again fucking everywhere. It's tiring, because he acts like an entitled cunt all the time.
>>518375 My guess is people hate blenderfanboys, not really the actual program. I hate Maya and Cinema 4d for several reasons, but i also use them.
You know I'm not that worried about the porn being made about this movie so much as the fanfics.I'm almost scared to see them.
>>518391I'm sure that there's at least one strangulation and crucifixion fetish fic being worked on at this very moment.

Really nice work mate; you captured the face really well. What images of Judy did you reference?
Luxrender Anon here. Had to redo the conversion from Luxcore API to classic Lux API which mostly fixed the issue with the colors of the textures. Mess up the badge and the belt but fuck it I'm not re-rendering this again.
>>518475Looks a lot better, although IMO the hair still looks nowhere near as good as in cycles. How much slower is lux classic than luxcore?
>>518476If you're talking about the original classic Lux rendering modes then it is extremely slow. Like about 9k samples/second slow. At least on my computer for indoor scenes. Outdoor is maybe about 30k. While Luxcore can give at least 100k samples/second without OpenCL. OpenCL GPU mode can give about 1M samples/second for indoors and more for outdoor. At least for me. But it depends on your computer and scene complexity.Thankfully the luxcore rendering modes are available in classic lux but without all the extra features of the new API.
Actually, looking at screenshots of the movie, looks like the hair around her cheeks is a good deal puffier and longer than in any of the renders here
>>518480Yep, something like this would be impossible with this rig.
>>518481I don't know anything about rigging, how much more rigged could the original's be compared to OP's?
>>518487I'm mainly missing controls for different parts of the nose, the inner/bottom eye corner area, pinching for the inner eyebrow, and the cheeks have only one main control per side. As well, each half of the lower lip probably needs more control as well. If you look at the documentary they released, you can see shots of the face rig, and practically every part of the face is segmented and controllable.
>>518490How do you bend the fingers? All I seem to be able to control is the end of the finger by the knuckle.
>>518491scale the finger bone.
>>518481That seems like something you might not want to do at the rig-level anyway, but using free-form deformations/cage deformations/physics.
Can anyone manage an export to .fbx that has the suit rigged instead of the mesh deform cage
>>518481How the fuck do you even do stuff like this without spending days manually tweaking deformations?
>>518303I've got a 960 I'd be willing to put to any heavier renders you can't do on your own. I don't know if it'd be faster for small renders (a few hours or so), but bigger stuff would work. The default Judy.blend scene renders in just over 7 minutes, if you want to compare. The same offer goes for anyone else in the thread
gib fbx so I can render this in the superior max, v-ray, and hairfarm
>>518584Physics simulation. I think gisnep simulates muscle deformation using volumetric methods or something.

Well, you weren't lying "Anon of the 3d". I think it's quite impressive, and notably better than, let's say, the other rigs you've made...Will be making a test pose rn
>>518077Are you stupid?
