I'm trying to model a condenser microphone (pic related), and I would like to know how can I make the grid of it, I mean, I would know how to make it, but how do I make it "wrap" on a squared shape of my desire, isn't there a modifier or such who can help me with this? I've tried with bend but it just doesn't comform to the shape I want.Any tip appreciated
Make the shape first. Uv the shape. Make a tileable texture like the grid. Add a displacement map to the shape.

>>513186What is the microphone being used for? You might not even be modelling the right microphone for the job.
>>513278Just production render, I was thinking of using vray displacement
>>513286So basically you just want to render a picture of a microphone.... like the picture of the microphone you have?Wouldn't it just be easier to take a picture of the microphone you need to make production photos of?
>>513359She's just practicing you twat
>>513386Boys don't render microphones.
>>513186use lattice modifier maybe idk
>>513186don't even think about modeling that grid. Use displacement.
>>513186If you really want accuracy, I've had luck using cloth simulations. Just make the mesh in a plane and drop it on an object shaped like what you need.
