what's /3/ opinion about Stand By Me, Doraemon?
animation's pretty good, the CG in the movie is questionable in some parts but pretty nice in others
Looks like Blue Dragon with higher poly counts and squash&stretch animation. Not impressive for a movie, but still a little better then what would expect from a current gen game engine.
What is for you an impressive animation movie? And what do you think about Pixar movies?
Pixar movies I generally find quite impressive. Monsters University for a recent example.
I'm not a 3DCG artist but I'd like to know what point make an animation movie a "masterpiece". So I really appreciate your replies and I'd like to read more information about it
Why are japs so bad at 3D animation, is their tradeoff for being so good at 2D is that they can't make anything 3D worth shit besides vidya?
i mean everything really.
>is the story great
>how are the voice actors
>did the concept team make great concepts?
>did the modeling department make great models
>how did the textures and shaders turn out great?
>did the riggers make good weights and muscles/rigs
>did the animators make realistic weighted animation or clean up mo-cap well
>how good are the effects
>how is the sound design?
>Im probably missing some pieces but you get the point
do all of these components work well together?
pixar made a video on how they make their movies (*i think all of pixars movies are great. besides the cars sequels/prequels/ect)
