My mesh literally has a similar if not the same rig as combine troopers in Source. Is there any way I can just pair my mesh to the combine rig if I'm making my own source fps?
How would I do this?

I think what your trying to do is pair your own character to the combine entity so you can use both its animations and AI.
Atleast wait for S2. Source is ancient now.
For the rig, I don't know how you usually rig for source but if you can, rig it in somewhere else like Maya, then import it into Source.

Have your rig use the same name conventions and try applying the combine animations
