Well, that was underwhelming.

You had unrealistic expectations. Welcome back down to earth.

Nope. It's been outsted as just another fad that no one cares about.

Uh-huh. I'll make sure your opinion carries a lot of weight during the consumer releases in the coming 12 months.

The truth is that this affects vision which is why you cant use it if you're under 13. They even had a whole segment on that on Tested last week.

Jokes on u, shill.
>>
>>496626

No fucking shit it effects DEVELOPING vision. I could have you told you that from the start. But once you're done with puberty then you can VR all you want.

I bet you believe that sitting too close to a monitor or using it in a dark room will "hurt" your vision too, right?
>>
>>496631
VR will never EVER be "teh future" if you can't even use it before you're 13. I mean, jebus. The sad thing is that the Tested boys pointed out that the vast majority of minecraft players are 8-13 yo boys. KEK
>>
>>496638

>VR will never EVER be "teh future"

Like I said, welcome back to reality. It's not going to "the future", but it's pretty fucking cool and has a lot of potential for immersive experiences. It's great for cockpit orientated vehicle games and alternative things.

I don't give a shit about children not being able to use it, they're not my target the audience.

Once AR and VR converge in wearable tech in about 7-10 years.. sure. But for now it's not going to be that big of a leap. Worth the investment if you're interested though. But only the consumer versions. Don't DK unless you dev

VR will be a great fun in mobile gaming. The market will properly grow once Samsung releases their mobile HMD this November. Otherwise the PC HMD's will be great for motion controller stuff and vehicles stuff. Just getting it for DCS/Eurotruck and whatnot is worth it for me.
>>
>>496736
>VR will be a great fun in mobile gaming.
Putting some huge awkward goggles on in public is the farthest thing from mobile there is, cum
>>
>>496764

You use your phone to play the game, just like how many people use handhelds at home or on holiday. It's obviously not an ideal commuter medium.

You can even use it on the shitter if you want, looking around at a fantasy world and pooping into the mouth of a giant.
>>
>>496765
You use your phone to play angry birds, without a second peripheral. Without a second peripheral that covers your fucking Face.

Are you this much of a lel?
>>
>>496767
>believing VR on a mobile device is flappy birds

You need to get informed.

They spent 3 years developing oculus but didn't solve the motion sickness problem. What were they doing all this time - scathing their asses? It's just a fucking phone display strapped onto your face. I am disappoint.
>>
>>496876
You mean they haven't solved the problem with how the human brain works? Vr sickness has been dramatically lowered with the introduction of better displays and positional tracking as well as a better understanding of how to develop software for modern vr.

People just need to be more aware of correct IPD calibration and most people won't have any problems with nausea using well made software and a consumer kit. Your disinformation campaign is pathetic.
>>
>>496880
If you move through space in VR but you are not physically moving your senses tell you to vomit regardless of how good they will make the tracking. IPD adjustment won't do shit. Players will be stuck with shitty games where you jump-cut to move or look from above. Just as I thought. The mobile industry enabled VR by creating dense displays. The other stuff oculus did any idiot in china can figure out. They should have released a consumer version 2 years ago. I thought they were working on figuring out the vestibular system and this is why it was taking so long. VR will be available to everyone but nobody will give a shit to use it because of it's low resolution and boring experiences.
>>
>>496764
eh, people will get over their ick factor about goggles in public pretty quickly. Although a major problem will be paying attention to the outside world. VR goggles blocking your vision would be a good way to get robbed in a hurry.

>non sequitor x2

if you have something to say, say it, don't axe a baiting question pls kidd
>>
>>497470
I'll take that as a no then.

Do you know why reading things close to your eyes put a strain on them? Because this is important to your argument and if you don't understand what you're arguing then I don't see a point in arguing it with you.

In addition how lenses work is the counter to your nonsense claim of looking at something 1mm away, but if that doesn't make sense to you then you don't understand the science behind vision which makes this discussion even more irrelevant.

VR is proven to be dangerous for eye development below 12-13. Even award winning special effects guys on Tested acknowledge this. You're just some desperate anon, who "takes his own baiting (x2 even....x2!!) as a no". You're just another silly virginal autist...
>>
>>497472

And when have I ever contested this? I'm saying it's perfectly safe for non-developing vision.
>>
>>497473
Look mate...if you stare at a wall 1mm away from you for hours every day you're vision WILL get messed up, The eye is a living organism, get your facts right pls, faggot
>>
>>497474

Ah, I see. You don't know how lenses work. Arguing this topic with you would be like arguing advanced math with a child.

Laters.
>>
>>497472
Well I'm not between the ages of 12-13 so I don't care.

Fuck those brats. Dont let them use it if it's a big problem.
>>
>>497474

>citation needed
>>
who gives a fuck, VR is dead already.
Same as 3D TV.
>>
>>497523

That's an interesting statement you're making. What are you basing it on?

Are you basing it on the reception of Samsungs Gear VR which is due in November?
Maybe Playstation VR which isn't out yet?
Or perhaps how well the Vive/Rift sold in Q1 of next year?

Oh wait, you're just talking shit.

Come back when you have an argument which is backed up by facts and not opinions.
>>
>>497527
In 2014 you could find videos from oculus connect straightaway on youtube. This year it took more then a week for someone to just upload the raw talks. It just shows that there's less interest as they are dragging it for YEARS.
Remember how Duke Nukem Forever got slayed?
>>
They have not figured out how to move through space without motion sickness that isn't awkward. And for TPP games where you look from above they work much better on flat 4k displays. People won't really give a shit to wear something on their head to play them in low res.
>>
>>497534

That is the most obvious straw man argument I have ever seen. Facts, fool. Do you have them?
>>
>>497535
This, basically. You can't move through your room because it won't fit the game unless its a Faggot Sim™.

VR just boils down to you having LATCHED screens to your eyes like a complete ASS.
>>
>>497540

Apparently you have no imagination.

Well, no matter. You'll see what we're all working on soon enough.
>>
>>497543
shhh now, kid. Sleep and grow strong like da-da
>>
bump
>>
>>496587
Can somebody give me an TL;DR. I don't want to watch an hour of this to find out what it's about. It's not that i don't like watching long talks, but i'm watching something else that is around 40 minutes atm.
>>
>>497854

Not really.

You either have an interest in VR and watch it or you don't.
>>
>>497854
the tl;dr is in the OP.
>>
I genuinely don't get what's going on ITT
